Clear Acrylic Body&cap For Asa Sniper

Recommended Posts

I recently broke 'the insides' of my ASA Sniper.

Now, surely I could get replacement parts for it from ASA, but I'd rather not.

Instead I now have a clear acrylic body and cap to give away to one of you.

- The item is without structural defects,

- Clip is good

- No personalisation of any kind,

- Very minor signs of use,

- Some ink residue in the inner threads. You can probably still soak that out.

- Free and open for/to anyone.

- Will choose a winner randomly, let's say on Tuesday morning, Nov.3rd.

- Due to international shipping it will take 1-2 weeks to reach you though.

Best wishes

mike

From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

I'd like to participate too, please count me in! TIA

And btw, it's frosted acrylic (or at least looks like it) :)

Wow, I'm glad there are so many interested members. Too bad there can only be one winner.

I'd say I'll wait (as planned) another ~24hrs, that would be until Tuesday 10 a.m. EST

how did you break that

I was often forced to make adjustments to the nib assembly because the nib I had received was a bit sub-par. After having unscrewed the hood maybe 3 times I must have screwed it back down too tightly, then the next time I could not open it again. I tried for a few days, with different rubbery grip options, to no avail. (And the pen was also pretty much unusable in that configuration)

In the end I 'cut my loses', cut the section open to recover the nib and moved on.

Too bad too; I never quite managed to warm up to the Sniper.

I'd like to participate too, please count me in! TIA

It is not frosted acrylic, but clear. What you might be mistaking for frosting is that the bore is not completely clear on the inside, which is doubled in effect by the backdrop being white. Once it is filled with ink (eyedropper) the barrel looks clear though.

Looking through the cap at the nib, it is indeed a bit milky (same thing with the bore).

On a related note, the bottom, solid part of the barrel is clear and bright enough to be used as a magnifying class (if the print is indeed small enough)
