Kobe (神戸市 Kōbe-shi) is the sixth-largest city in Japan and is the capital city of Hyōgo Prefecture. It is located on the southern side of the main island of Honshū, on the north shore of Osaka Bayand about 30 km (19 mi) west of Osaka. With a population around 1.5 million, the city is part of the Kyoto-Osaka-Kobe metropolitan area along with Osaka and Kyoto. Its name comes from "kanbe" (神戸), an archaic title for supporters of the city's Ikuta Shrine. Kobe became one of Japan's 17 designated cities in 1956.

Kobe is famous for its shirines and nioce architecture but among fountain pen and ink afficionados the name Kobe cause increased heart-rate. The city is a home of Nagasawa-Kobe stationery shop that offers incredible lione of more than fifty inks made by Sailor.

My master - plan is to prepare comparison of full line of Nagasawa-Kobe inks. Not an easy task as they're not the most obtainable inks on the market, but hopefully I'll manage to do it :)

At the moment Nagasawa-Kobe offers 52 inks:

Mmg112 has sent me some crazy amount of samples of different inks and guess what? Nagasawa some Kobe inks were among the samples. Thank you mmg112!

Brick Red has interestin colors and as most Sailor inks behaves very well in fountain pens (no bleedthrough, feathering or other issues). I like this one quite a lot.

I was thinking brick but this color ink is very interesting, not brick, but very interesting.

Thanks for showing it for us.

Be Happy, work at it. Namaste

You're welcome. With Sailor inks it's pleasure. There are inks that I try because someone has sent a sample of them to me asking to review them and I always do it (sharing my thoughts) nut with some imnks it's a chore. WIth Kobe inks it's trully fun - the colors are not always unique but mostly intriguing and definitelly not boring. Additionally they have fantastic level of lubrication.

I have refrained from kobe inks because of those hideous and torturous jentle ink bottles. But with the reviews you are doing, I'll just have to buy 10-20 of them from the kobe shop. :)

Thank you for the review. I always refer your review first when I think of buying an ink.

This ink looks more like a burgundy to me, which I like. :)

This ink was a pleasure to use, almost as good as Vis' reviews.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Looks good, thanks for the review. I'm loving these hues at the moment! From the scans it looks a bit like Diamine Oxblood but a bit lighter and leaning a bit more purple/less brown... would that be a fair assessment?

not brick, but very interesting.

Bricks are quite varied in color. This one is actually called "Kobe Bricks", and they say it was inspired by a 100+ year-old brick warehouse in Kobe harbor.

In other words, they had a rather particular example of bricks in mind. Now, whether they got the color right, or if color shifted during production, I do not know.

I know my id is "mhosea", but you can call me Mike. It's an old Unix thing.
