I have a vintage S3 crescent disassembled for cleaning on my workbench. PM me if you would like to see pictures of the surprisingly simple innards of this beautiful design.

Nosy me: I'd love to have you post those pics here. Please?

Several years ago, my Conklin Mark Twain crescent filler would not fill, and then I disassembled the pen. I noticed my that crescent bar was bent at the ends. I wondered what shape it was supposed to be. I straightened the bar and reassembled the pen. I like my pen.

The filler on my Mark Twain simply doesn't work and I've only put three or four loads through it. I like the pen and have tuned the stub nib to perfection, but the pen won't pull more than five or six drops of ink. The crescent remains almost fully depressed and it's a real pain to get my fingernails around it to pull it out far enough to even move the lock right.

I disassembled my Mark Twain Crescent filler (Spearmint) because it would not fill. I noticed that the section screwed into the barrel (it was not a friction fit), the sac was very twisted, and the crescent bar was bent at the ends. I straightened the crescent bar, and I replaced the twisted sac with a new sac.
