Omas inks are sold inlarge octagon-shaped bottle, that has been in use since it was first introduced in the 1930s. I like this design.

At the moment Omas inks are available in eight standard colors:

  1. Black
  2. Blue
  3. Gray (New)
  4. Green
  5. Red
  6. Sepia
  7. Turquoise
  8. Violet

On different occasions they produced also limited edition inks, like:

  1. Amerigo Vespucci Red
  2. Green Italia
  3. Hong Kong Red
  4. Permanent Black
  5. Roma 2000 Blue
  6. Triratna Saffron

If I'll be able to put my hands on the samples, I'll review them all.

Vespucci Red was LE ink sold together with Omas A. Vespucci fountain pen that makes my mouth drool:

The sample was sento to me by Michael R. Thank you Michael :) PS: If you read this topic and have some little free time it would be great if you could post the photo of the bottle :)

The ink looks very nice, behaves perfectly well and is nicely saturated. I must say I'm impressed by this one. I could have a bottle. I would found use for it ;)

Interesting color. The splash makes me think of Noodler's Park Red, but the drop on the towel is evoking De Atramentis Ruby Red. And the written text looks a bit like what I've seen of Diamine Poppy (possibly mixed with Diamine Classic Red, which I like as what I think of as a "true" red, right smack in the middle of the color wheel).

This is one I'd have to see in person (rather than just on a computer screen) to see if it's too bright (the previous thread I read before this one was the scans of the swatches of the Kingdom Note Crustacean inks, which are, for the most part, pretty much the antithesis of this one...).

Thanks for the review.

Nice review, as the many others you did. Your reviews are a great contribute to the forum.

I should have a bottle of this ink somewhere, and I remmebre the color different from your description.

Also the box f the ink is quite different from that one of e picture, but this could be understandable.

Ill check the color to confirm what I have in mind.

A very exceptional and rare ink. To date Omas refuses to redo it and Roma. A wonderful guy in Italy sold me a bottle 3 or 4 years ago and I promptly spilled the whole thing.

One of my favorite red inks in the late 1990's! I remember it slightly darker with just few more magenta tones compared to your scans but then I have not used it in many years.

Unfortunately I neither have the black outer cardboard box nor the matching fountain pen ;)

Cheers

I have the pen, which I bought new when it was released, but never got the ink.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

Yes - it has more magenta to it. The scans hasn't done it a justuice and photos it's too red. The bottle looks great.

Vis.. did you notice the poster from MichaleR?. There WAS an Omas Blue-Black !!!.... and it looks like the one I have... :D :D :D :D

Perhaps it's just me, but this seems like a fairly common ink to be sold with a pretty exceptional pen. I can think of a number of reds that I'd take over this LE.
