Omas inks are sold inlarge octagon-shaped bottle, that has been in use since it was first introduced in the 1930s. I like this design.

At the moment Omas inks are available in eight standard colors:

  1. Black
  2. Blue
  3. Gray (New)
  4. Green
  5. Red
  6. Sepia
  7. Turquoise
  8. Violet

On different occasions they produced also limited edition inks, like:

  1. Amerigo Vespucci Red
  2. Green Italia
  3. Hong Kong Red
  4. Permanent Black
  5. Roma 2000 Blue
  6. Triratna Saffron

If I'll be able to put my hands on the samples, I'll review them all.

Triratna Orange was LE ink sold together with Omas Triratna pen:

The sample was sento to me by Michael R. Thank you Michael :)

The ink looks rather nice although it's not special in any way. It's nice and well behaved but there are plernty of more interesting oranges on the market.

I would be surprised if someone would go fetal on the floor because this one is no longer available :) I won't.

Is nice.. I do like it. I had the chance to buy a bottle (at a very steep price) not long ago.

Needles to say, I was able to live without it..

Thank you for your review. I wish I had been able to read it prior to chasing my bottle on Ebay last year. I "just had to" try an orange ink made by Omas since they don't currently offer one. I hoped that my bottle might have suffered color loss due to time and or light exposure..........BUT I am afraid it is just a "pale" orange. Not so surprising since I have been similarly fooled probably a half dozen times (I am thinking about F Scott Fitzgerald by Organics Studio which " was representative of the Roaring Twenties!") But whatever price I paid was no worse than many meals that were eaten & forgotten afterwards. AND the bottle is @ least interesting if not the ink. But is surely lack's the oomph of the Caran d'Ache oranges!

 ...always stored in the dark! But still some inks are changing colors and properties :gaah:

This ink was a highlight in 1997 when I was pretty new to pens & inks. Omas really was an exotic brand back than and not as many colored inks were available in Germany (Bethge/Herbin, Sheaffer's and Private Reserve offered yellow-orange inks at that time).

Great review!

Cheers

Michael
