Tomoe River Journals And More

Lovely piece of work!

Thank you very much for your kind words!!

Is that creme-colored paper?

Actually, he asked for half of the journal white and the other half creme. I don't remember for sure, but I think this is the white part... The camera makes it seem not so white, but I think it is the white Tomoe River.

Some pictures of something I worked on last month. I will post the final pictures as soon as I can :).

This was a Coptic journal, where the back cover was made with blue leather and the front cover using paste paper that I had previously made.

Looking GREAT!!

BTW for those of you interested, I will bring my red journal and a sample journal to the LA Pen show AND GatzBCNs card and catalogue for those you who want to see it before you order.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I showed off Gatz' work to Pen World Magazine and let them borrow a book. Look for Gatz to be in the next issue of Pen World.

Today I will show a very special project I worked on for the last month. It as big - very big. The size of the page was A4. The style was Springback and, since the owner wanted the pages to open 180º flat, I added escartivanas. These are the addendum you see close to the spine.

I will upload the images of the work finished very soon :).

This was the textblock sewed.

It was pretty thick already.

Working on the spine and first cover...

Second cover and spine. You can see very well the escartivanas here. Also, I usually wrap the text block in draft paper after past experiences were stains of paste appeared on the text block :P.

And the third, thick and last cover finally on.

Hope you enjoyed! See you back soon!! (Hopefully hehe).

Looking jaws under the table. Which paper are you using? I presume is A3. Could you post a photo with the book open? The binding with escartivanas I know once open does not lie flat.

I used Basik 150, it actually was 100x70 cm, so much bigger hehe. Here's your photo:
