Graf Von Faber-Castell: Moss Green

I present to test the ink Graf von Faber-Castell Moss Green with a beautiful, deep green color. If I had recommend someone green with good parameters, shading visible even at nib "F", it certainly would recommend Moss Green.

The water resistance and chromatography for this one looks almost exactly like Tokiwa-matsu. Both pine greens, but they look not so similar in writing. This is nice, but I prefer Tokiwa-matsu. What about you?

This Moss Green is very nice but looks more of a pine green to me.

 

Tokiwa-matsu is by far my favourite green ink. It's properties are exemplary & it is a beautiful complex & interesting colour.

I LOVE Tokiwa-matsu. But it demands good paper. On poor quality copy paper there is ghosting, spread, bleed-through, etc.

 

I'd be interested to see a side-by-side comparison if anyone has both.

Well yes, but isn't that the case with most FP inks?

 

I often read such comments about ink behaviour on poor quality paper and must admit I get a bit bewildered. Why do people use "poor quality copy paper" with FPs, as the writing experience is usually correspondingly poor? Even if the ink you're using doesn't exhibit poor behaviour on such paper, (which it does more often than not) these papers generally aren't good for FPs.

 

If you have access to FPs and inks then it is almost certain you can find acceptable quality, but still cheap, copy paper. Copy paper or printer paper that works well with FP inks can be bought extremely cheaply almost anywhere. In fact price definitely doesn't equate to quality. I use a cheap, but acceptable quality, copy paper from a local supermarket and Tokiwa-Matsu works beautifully on it.

At home, I use only premium paper. But I don't buy the paper at work.

At home I buy good paper. Polish reality - to work boss buys weak and cheap paper.

Already have this GVFC ink - love using it. I'll likely make it my Christmas ink for the year!
