Can anybody expand on the Xezo brand? I've seen these advertised on Ebay but have no idea at all about the quality.

I have a Xezo FP on order. I have quite a few of their other pens and pencils and I love them due to their weight (not quite as heavy as the Monteverde Rigatta but pretty close). I have Legionaires and Delta Forces (Plus a few they no longer make). A lot of their pens are made as Limited Editions so they disappear fast (like their Silver FPs). Once my FP arrives I will let you know what I think of it.

I voted Lamy, but Pilot/Namiki is very, very close behind Lamy. I think the only reason I voted Lamy is because I have two of them and they are such solid writers. Due to their relative inexpensiveness (is that a word?), I always have one on me since I am not afraid of damaging it! So while I think my favorite pen is the Pilot VP, I have to vote Lamy as my favorite brand...

Well for you, if you wrestle on, for in persistency lies victory, and with the morning may come the wished-for blessing. But not always; there is a struggle with defeat which some of you will have to bear, and it will be well for you if you have cultivated a cheerful equanimity. Remember, too, that sometimes 'from our desolation only does the better life begin.' Even with disaster ahead, it is better to face them with a smile, and with the head erect, than to crouch at their approach. And, if the fight is for principle and justice, even when failure seems certain, where many have failed before, cling to your ideal, and, like Childe Roland before the dark tower, set the slug-horn to your lips, blow the challenge, and calmly await the conflict.

I may seem fickle but being new in using fountain pens again, I now find that I'm writing more with my one Pelikan and an Esterbrook. Maybe when I get my first ebay win restored I'll start using my Touchdown Crest regularly. I have dipped this pen and I love the way she lays down the ink.

Modern or vintage? Which day of the week? Which mood? What type of writing? Obviously, it is very subjective, at least for me. Could also depend on which pen is the newest in the stable. :D

Without a doubt or any hesitation, out of the pens I have my favorite is Sheaffer. I love the Snorkel model, to the point I have five of them plus a school pen, a Triumph Imperial, and a Touchdown. The hard part is choosing which one to write with…

I’ve also got a Pelikan, Parker, and had a Montblanc before I lost it :( As for the other makes I can’t really comment as I haven’t had the opportunity to try them.
