JFK is readily available right now so just buy several bottles & don't waste other ink trying to mix it.

Where can I buy more of this ink?

FPH had listed it as available maybe a week ago or so, but now they don't. So they're probably out. Anderson Pens also out of stock. The US Montblanc online shop doesn't list it. But they do have Shakespeare Velvet Red.

So it was available for a few weeks... Now apparently gone again.

Several stores had it & I got 5 bottles. I didn't get any originally. Now all of a sudden they are all gone. Sorry.

Here's the (rather oblique) response I just received from MB regarding my inquiry about adding JFK to their permanent line-up of inks. It's basically what Brian Anderson reported above:

"Thank you very much for your email and your interest in Montblanc. We would be more than happy to assist you in locating our JFK ink.

Regrettably the JFK ink has been retired and we are not expecting more to arrive. We have received many requests for the beautiful ink. While we do not have any left in our warehouse we do have some available in our outlet boutiques.

We invite you to visit them to purchase this lovely ink while it is still available. If you are not able to visit them they can also place an order for you over the phone and ship the ink to you directly."

So this pretty much confirms we've about seen the last of this ink as far as MB is concerned. I'll second Old Salt's sentiment on the subject: "Awwww...rats!" (And now the search for an equivalent/replacement can begin in earnest...!)

I've often wondered if JFK could be close to any of the L'Artisan Pastellier/Callifolio ink line:

Pic credit to visvamitra, who does excellent reviews here.

One great truth I heard early on in my ink collecting experience is that while there are many brands, there are actually few ink manufacturers. Lots of rebranding (Diamine = Akkerman, Conway Stewart, etc). Montblanc inks have been a mystery to me as they tend to be good quality but not a direct match to anything else.

MB likely insists on unique formulas but they are said to be the same factory as the Conway Stewart and Monteverde inks. Indeed Conway Stewart Tavy is pretty close to JFK but just as hard to find it seems so no help there.
