I'm usually lost without my spreadsheet. I do have the habit to jot down the ink and pen in my journal when I first pick up the pen. I have dozens inked at the same time and I do ink mixes all the time. I also keep a fairly recent print of my ink spreadsheet on my desk. And I try to update each pen's entry as I make changes. Even then I've sometimes dropped the ball...

but can usually reconstruct what's in which pen.

This is where I see a difference. Compare the two Ms - I think it's darkening. What do you think?fpn_1443861930__20151003_010314.jpg

it's bluer than aventurine and less grey than cpdg. i think.

I'm going to guess pilot iroshizuku shin-ryoku...on account of that's the only green I have that looks somewhat like that shade.

I'm pretty fond of yellow-greens, and sometimes I don't remember which yellow-green ink I put in a pen, especially if I let it "age" and it comes out darker than I expected. But it doesn't bother me much, since I enjoy them for the color. All I really need to do is remember to rinse out the pen with the "mystery" ink before refilling! ;)

The other day, I wanted to compare Ink of the Witch, Sankodo Nishikisan and Ebony Purple (all three are black purples and sheen like crazy); so I filled 3 Karas Kustom Ink fountain pens with custom nibs.

Off-topic- I am looking forward to seeing this comparison! I have a sample of Ebony Purple in my queue, and was planning on using it as my litmus test to see if I wanted to get Ink of Witch or not.

On-topic- I don't have that many pens inked at once, and only rarely have more than one of the same color ink going at a time. I can totally see myself doing this if I were trying to compare similar inks at the same time, though, so I tend to do comparisons sequentially to minimize confusion. (I don't keep any kind of ink log, either).

ETA: I have no idea for a guess, though it sort of reminds me of a picture I saw of yours of one of the Akkermans-- the Bezeidungs-whatever, maybe?

Ooo, it's obviously not Cult Pens Deep Dark Green which now puts it out of my comfort / knowledge zone.

Sorry.

I'm not even going to pretend to guess: I don't have enough green or green/turquoise inks. Okay I'll guess FPN member Pharmacist's Turkish Night. (I don't expect to be right....)

Yeah, I've had the problem -- at the moment I've got to check my ink/pen combos file for what's in a Vac Debutante Brown Shadow Wave (I *think* it was vintage Quink Royal Blue, but not 100% positive). And I've long since lost track of which black ink is in which of three Platinum Preppies set up as rollerball pens, because the trim on them is identical -- I suspect that the ink is pretty much dead, and the pens might be pretty much toast....

I'm late to the game and haven't read any replies, but I'm guessing Blue Steel.

And yes. I do it all the time, even though I obssessively WRITE DOWN EVERY INK I LOAD IN EVERY PEN. Still happens, particularly when there are a lot of similar blues or I just loaded a few (mayyybeee we hope!) repaired pens.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Now that I have figured out what it is.... I thought it was one of my Diamines. It is not.

LOL that you don't care about which ink. Would you believe, I'm addicted to color?

Oh...don't get me wrong. I like color. I am just not concerned about what color is in what pen. I usually have 3 or 4 pens inked and when I write I just pick a pen and start writing. I mostly write letters to friends so the color is immaterial to me ( and them ). I am only concerned with the ink color at work as it has to be Blue or Black which is why my VP's are inked with Blue and Black.

Don't you like to be surprised by the color when you start writing??? Much better fun when you start to write a letter and go " Oh, Purple! "

Being mostly a cartridge user ( I find them much more convenient ) I am just starting to get into bottled inks, as cartridges are a little limited in color choices, although I do have the aforementioned Purple and I am bewildered at the array of colors ( and the many shades of colors ) available. I do have some ink on order...Chesterfield " Antique Copper", " Erinite" and "Night Sapphire"...but will experiment with bolder colors at a later date.

However, I will still be unconcerned about which color ink is in which pen. Life is too short to waste it cataloguing which ink is in which pen. Just ink it up and write I say!

I have to mention. I appreciate every comment on this Forum and appreciate everyone taking the time to help their fellow man/woman.

I also forget which ink is in what pen. I try to keep a list, but sometimes I get in a hurry and skip recording the information. And sometimes I lose the list...

I'm (more than) a little OCD. So cataloguing isn't so much "fun" as "innate"....

I'm pretty sure you've tested this ink - now that I have confirmed what it is. I figured it out after I tested it, but I confirmed it when I found that little sheet of paper.

So, it's not a teal, it is definitely a green. So, not Blue Steel.

The GOTA I have actually turns blue, and I haven't inked it in while. I don't remember if it's waterproof. So, not General of the Armies. This ink is water resistant in that the dye part washes out and leaves a legible line. So, it must be Iron Gall. I've never had an IG from Pharmacist who made the lovely inks Ruth mentioned.

Last hint, the brand is Cyber6 favorite.
