Asa Nauka Group Buy

From jjlax10: "Purchasing will be through the ASA Pens website, which will be live on October 7, 2015. At that time the final dimensions, sketch and other information will be posted."

Thanks for that information. Looking forward to this.

Okay, this is confusing. Does this mean that ordering specific models here isn't a guarantee that it will be reserved for us? Do we have to order from the ASA website, which could mean an order has been snatched up by somebody else?

ASA is a small shop and with a group buy they make the pens on a rolling basis based on orders. Once the page goes live you should be able to select from all the options I have set out, even beyond what you requested. I kept track since the company needed a minimum of ten to send the pen into production. Now that the minimum is achieved all the options will be made available. You should not have a problem getting what you want.

I hope there won't be any problems, especially since there has been a lot of interest so far, and it wouldn't surprise me if even more people will be eager to grab one up once they see the pens.

Somehow (and I don't think I'm the only one) I assumed from the original post that orders were to be placed here. It just gets confusing when it's not made clear right at the very beginning that after ten interested buyers have made their commitment here everything else will be dealt with externally from the ASA website.

I realize it can't be easy organizing a group buy of this scale, I just think a couple of things needed to be a little clearer from the beginning. That being said, thank you for introducing these pens here on FPN.

I'll take 1 ED in shiny black with a stock nib and 1 with a JoWo F dual-tone nib in green-black. That is a beautiful pen... I love the way the threads are incorporated, also without the need of a step between the section and barrel. Who makes the stock nibs, by the way?

I would like the Number 2 colour pattern. Since eye droppers and I don't peacefully coexist, I shall opt for the Schmidt broad nib.

There won't be any issues. Asa Pens have organised a few GB via this site and there hasn't been any issues at all. I've taken part in the Sniper GB and the Popsicle GB which both followed the exact same ordering process as here. A cursory search for Asa Pens on FPN would tell you that.

I have an update, which is a sketch, with dimensions, showing how the pen will look with a clip.

This is a note from ASA Pens regarding the clip:

Kindly note :-
  • Clip would be a ball ended clip
  • The Section-barrel joint will be 10mm, below the Cap lip, when cap is closed, as in the original model. This is to facilitate that the section is not caught within cap.

Thanks for the detailed engineering drawing. This will give everyone a better idea of the design and dimensions.

I would like one - clipped version, color no. 2, original stock nib (fine, if possible). Thank you! I am very much looking forward to this pen!

All things work out in the end. If it is not working out, it is not the end.

Any idea when this will hit the Asa website?

A couple of posts above indicated Wednesday. That would be in the next approximately 24 hours.
