New Visconti Arte Della Scrittura With Glass Nib

novelli

Recommended Posts

In the past months many brands focused their attention on the calligraphic sets, but this time Visconti really made something unique adding a Murano glass nib to the nib choice.

The full set consists in Calligraphic nib 0.5 + calligraphic nib 1.5 + deskpen with Murano's glassnib + roller graphic section + roller section + cartridge + roller refil

Although this edition is not limited nor numbered, some colors are produced in a very limited number, like the marbled blue (8 pieces), marbled brown (4 pieces) Red Kaleido (4 pieces) electric blue (4 pieces), marble brown/yellow (4 pieces).

For this reason I've already opened the reservations to make sure you will get the color you prefer.

Nice to see Visconti digging out some of their older colours.

Does the glass nib work with the cartridge/converter or as a dip pen ?

yes, for this edition they are using their very old material.

Concerning the galss nib, no it doesn't work with cartridge/converter, only as a dip pen, but I've tested it for almost 2 pages!

Thanks for clearing that up. I've often wondered about those glass nibs.

From the looks of the nibs, they are not any different than the steel ones available on the current Visconti Calligraphy sets with the Rembrandt pen bodies. One being a 1.5 italic nib and the other an extra fine "flex" nib with 2 breather holes. In reality it does not flex very much but both really nice nibs that I enjoy using a lot.

Marco, does the set include a "holder" for the desk pen ?

The Rembrandt Calligraphy set had a sort of holder arrangement in the box to stand the nib & section in when not being used in a writing session.

unfortunately no, this pen will come with a simple presentation box without any holder.
