Yellow Ink

This is getting pretty close to a viable yellow, Diamine Sunshine Yellow is close to this also but with a little more true yellow to it.

I would like to second J. Herbin's Ambre de Birmanie. Like people said, for it to be legible, it's on the tan side of things, but if gold is within your conception of yellow, then you might give it a try. Also, for another possibility, check out Toucan Gold.

My pens: Penny the Penmanship, Dot the Metropolitan, Pallas the Parallel, Neoma the High Ace Neo, Petra the Petit1, Calliope the Kakuno (Also, a Sheaffer No-Nonsense)

My bottles of ink: Sailor Epinard & Ultramarine; Mysterious Blue (Wishlist: Oku Yama)

I forgot to mention that, depending on the paper, the shading--in Nagasawa Kobe #21 Taisanji Yellow--can dominate (this is the case with many inks, though):

Tomoe Paper - Strong Shading:

Rhodia Paper - Shading Has Reduced (ignore the content; was a reply in another thread):

The less absorbent the paper, the more shading. While Rhodia is not terribly absorbent, it's still more so than Tomoe. The difference in color is noticeable.

More absorbent paper or a drier nib (in this case) will really bring out the yellow in this wet ink:

I sold my bottle of this ink not too long ago, but am having some serious regrets over it now.

Hope this helps a little.

I was going to complain that haruka337 had gotten me hooked on Yet Another Ink. Only to discover that it was *already* on my list of inks to look into getting....

I have a love/hate relationship with Diamine 'Sunshine Yellow.' It's not a true yellow, it leans towards the color of an egg yolk. And it has great shading, but dang is it bright.

Have you considered mixing De Atramentis' document inks? Jane Blundell has come up with great colors using no more than 3 inks, and she shows the ratios she used. You can see some of her yellows here:

For other colors, search for De Atramentis in her website's search box.

+1 on Diamine Sunshine Yellow.

It's actually the only yellow bright enough to be seen...

I like my Edelstein Amber too. Here's a pic to Amber: https://www.fountainpennetwork.com/forum/topic/297526-what-does-your-handwriting-say-about-you/?p=3464598

I really love my Sailor Yellow/Orange (13-0600-276), unfortunately it is out of production. I bought the last stock at a store (three bottles), so that I have enough for the next year or so.

my second favorite yellow that I use is Rohrer & Klingner Helianthus. I don't own a lot of yellows, but I should compare the lot sometime to see if the other ones are good enough.

de Atramentis Gold Yellow is too bright for my taste.

Wheeee!!! I love spending other people's money. :P

I'm always a little amused with myself when this happens; pining for an ink already on "the list". Feels good to know I'm not as erratic as or inconsistent in my habits as I sometimes believe.

I'm trying to find Edelstein Amber, but, alas, to no success.

By the by, you have lovely handwriting!

Yup, it's out of stock here too, I only have... about 15ml or so left :/

Perhaps try the J Herbin Amber? It looks like a similar colour!

Thanks! :D
