Got a Royal Blue with fine nib from engeika. Arrived in less than a week.

It's really good; a great colour! Just trying to find a nice BRIGHT royal blue ink to put in it. Any suggestions?

I was looking at the PR....it looks a nice BLUE blue. I have the Waterman and I'm not sure it's dark, or blue, enough.

Waterman SSB is in the Turquoise/Peacock Blue family. To make it pop out I add a bit of whatever red is on hand. A similar color is Lamy Turquoise, which is lovely and bright.

You might like Diamine Majestic Blue too... I am thinking of ordering that one.

I would think The Writing Desk would have what you require. They have a great color comparison chart.

Diamine Sapphire Blue?

I've been on a quest to see if I could commit all Seven Deadly Sins in a single day. Finally, it dawned on me I shouldn't try for the One Day Wonder Prize for all seven in one day. It's simply out of any question as you can't commit decent sloth while busily ticking the other six off your crowded "to do" list. -- ViolinWriter

Hi, M,

Yes, I always use TWD for my ink (well, except for the Noodler's Walnut I bought last night from Niche Pens, cos TWD were out of stock!).

I think I've settled on trying some DC Super Show Blue. Well, yes, I have settled on it and am about to order it from TWD.

Have you got the Royal Blue Prera? Do you know the colour of it? I think it's a really neat pen, especially for what I paid for it.

I can't find this on TWD, unless I'm going blind. Is it known by any other name?

That's odd; I could have sworn that the "inks by colour" pages were arranged in alphabetical order by brand.

Look under "Ink by brand/range" -- Sapphire Blue is here: http://www.thewritingdesk.co.uk/showproduc...t=ink&subr=

Gothmeister S, the Diamine Majestic Blue is a new release. There's a thread on it and other newly released inks in the Inky Thoughts forum. Do visit there, it will open your eyes and your wallet to new inky experiences, hahaha :)

But I do enjoy looking at DC Supershow Blue.

I have got the Pink and the Ivory Preras, both in F. I am used to writing with that fine (Western XF) line on the dry side. You should check out holgalee's yellow one, it tempts me mightily.

....You're right!! I must have been suffering from blue-overload. I was looking at the "Blue" page and honestly couldn't see it!

Oh, dear, ANOTHER senior moment. :crybaby:

hi does anyone with one of the older preras and a new one see any difference in them? On engeikas prera pages it says that the new ones are supposed to have better flow and generally newly designed or something like that. So is there a difference in writing?

Wish list: Aurora Optima

Current inked Pens: Pilot Decimo - Noodlers BBH, MB Mozart - MB Lavender

Pelikan M150 - Noodlers Kung te Cheng

I think the nibs of the newer colour range (white, yellow, brown) seem a little softer than that of the old colour range. Does anyone feel the same?

I couldn't find it on the blue page yesterday either, if that makes you feel better.

I've just won a bright yellow Prera from engeika and asked for it to be supplied with a broad nib.

Can anyone confirm whether the Prera Broad nib is the same kind of stubby as the 78G (albeit not gold)? That's what I'm banking on.

Now what colour ink for it? :hmm1:

If Taizo is able to do it, then good for you. Silexink is right, the 78G and the Prera nibs are interchangeable. Not sure though whether you'll get a B round or a B stub. The 78G nibs are clearly identified as B stubs on ebay.

  • 5 weeks later...

Greetings!

I bought a gray Prera with medium nib, boxed (clear plastic Prera box), and it included the CON-20 for about $35 from Ujuku Pen Shop on eBay. Tadashi is the owner's name and his eBay i.d. is ujuku123. Just do an advanced search for seller and his listings will come up. Tadashi is a very nice guy and he has the Prera in several new colors. He also has a lot of other Japanese pens & mechanical pencils that are not usually available in North America.

I bought my ivory fine-nibbed Prera from: https://www.jstationery.com/index.php but it wasn't boxed and didn't include the converter. It did come with one cartridge. The best thing about buying from "jstationery" was that shipping was cheap. The pen was about the same price.

Enjoy!

Regards, Robert
