I have never heard of nor seen this color. Does goulet sell it?

This was made by Nathan for the Commonwealth Pen Show. Limited run of, I think, 30 bottles only.

A sincere man am I
From the land where palm trees grow,
And I want before I die
My soul's verses to bestow.

All those moments will be lost in time.
Like tears in rain.
Time to die.

I was able to get a bottle. In my opinion, the closest color match (at least of inks I've tried) is Diamine Flower Collection Bougainvillea, but this is a little darker. It also seems to be pretty waterproof, and is fairly fast drying, except on slick card stock; but the downside is that there is a fair amount of spread and some bleedthrough, and on cheap paper there was a fair amount of feathering if the nib was flexed at all (I put it in my King Philip Purple FPC, which, under the circumstances, seemed wildly appropriate -- especially given that the pen is the first Noodler's pen I ever bought...).

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

Thanks for the review. This colour reminds me of Tibaldi's Pink. Not my cup of ink. But if you like it, and all 30 bottles of King Phil are sold out, you now know what's left over.

Hmmm. Limited inks bother me. Tanned Armadillo is the same way. I have 2 1oz bottles and one went bad. I'm protective of it. I think that's a bad thing.

I think it's darker than that pink.

It's magenta, a touch brighter than Yama Budo. Not sure how that relates to Tibaldi. I think it's nicely lubricious. Stained the Charlie pen I got with it rather well. Wouldn't recommend using it in anything with an ink window.

OH NO. That's terrible. You got me hooked long ago on the Dromgoole's inks. I'm going to go sniff my bottle of NTA.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Yea. I love the smell of Noodler's as well.

:) Not sure if that was her motivation, though. I think she wants to check whether it has caught the ink flu.

only 30 bottles! :yikes:

I'm not sure how many bottles of each color were made, and I don't have the patience to watch the video again to find out what he said in there. Nevertheless, from what I do remember him saying, it sounded like the dye was discontinued.

Bear in mind that it's hard to get a scan of this ink looking right. I couldn't with my equipment. Here's a couple of photos with different lighting that may help you sort out what the color really is like. I dripped a little Lavender Purple on Saguaro Wine by accident and blotted it, so ignore that area of Saguaro Wine. Sorry.

KEY:

Yama Budo, King Philip Requiem, Saguaro Wine, Lavender Purple, Serenity Blue

Tender Purple, Violette Pensee, Bordeaux (Visconti), Tsutsuji

Maybe adding a drop of black to Saguaro Wine could dial it in even closer.

I think the reason for the limited amount of ink was that Nathan was no longer able to get the coloring ingredients. Thus he made as many as he could with the amount of stock and provided something limited to those coming to the Commonwealth Pen Show. Nathan is very much of a supporter of all the pen shows as well as the brick and mortar dealers.

Thank you Nathan.

BTW, I have two bottles of the King Philip and Standish Limited Edition inks and one of the Plymouth. Have only tested the King Philip (I like) and the Standish (I'm on the fence at the moment.
