What Pen Did You Get Today?

Let's see. In the mail today was Sheaffer 500 Crimson Glow. Also received a Krone Fiction Picante. The Krone was immediately sent back out to Krone though to get a nib exchange. But man that is a wild looking pen. Pictures do not do that thing justice. It actually messes with your eyes if you look at it too long!

Ok I'm super pumped!!! I went to ye'ol pen shoppe today with my heart set on getting a Pelican m200 to start my feeding my new obsession. Come to find out that their supply was serverly lacking. I did test out a m215 , Lamy stuido, and a visconti van gough. All great pens just not what I was looking to kick off my collection with sooooooo. I ordered the M200 from isellpens.com after reading the positive reviews here. Along with that I ordered the Noodlers Aircorp blue-black and a converter for my Al-star.

Can't wait!!!!

Pilot Bamboo from pensinasia.com. Had to buy two bottles of Noodler's Spirit of the Bamboo too, because, that is quite obviously the only worthy ink for this particular writing instrument.

"Sailor 1911 Series profit 14Kt - Special Red Transparent Fountain Pen" This has the normal red/burgundy cap, but a transparant body. It has a MUSIC nib. This is the first time I've tried one, and probably why there wasn't as much interest as normal on eBay for that item.

I also got a green Esterbrook. He said it didn't rattle, but as soon as I worked the lever...

I got a Sailor ProGear in Orange (YAY!) at the pen show on Friday, and then TODAY I went and got a Pelikan 200 with a cursive italic from Richard Binder! (And he stubbed the nib on my Safari and smoothed the nib on my Tombow Object!) :bunny01:

The Pelikan is my first piston filler, and boy do they BOTH write FABULOUSLY!! (I spent more than I intended to, but I'm pretty happy with what I got at my first pen show!)

I went all out yesterday at Fahrney's and got a Stipula Vedo in red and a Omas Bologna in Blue/Black. I am really looking forward to using those pens!!! I tried 'em both and man, are they smooth! And the Omas is one of the best balanced pens that I've ever tried - it feels just right in my hand .

Blue Carbonesque Vanishing Point arrived today. What a cool pen!

I got one of those today as well! They are great pens and the Blue Carbonesque finish is very classy.

I just received a Lamy Vista and a Hero 86 a few minutes ago by FedEx. They both look and feel fine in the hand.

And many thanks to folks here for supporting and suggesting various vendors. I bought these from Todd Nussbaum--excellent service, fast shipment and extremely courteous and helpful.

Funny -- same thing happened to me (except it was a Hero 616 for a friend and 2 Lamy Vistas). Todd takes the time to write you a note (with a fountain pen) on the PayPal receipt. Everything packed extremely well. Ink bottles are sent in a sealed ziploc bag, just in case.

The Vista is a superb pen for the price. The extra-fine nib is quite firm, but generally smooth. It excels at printing and would probably do so with script after a little break-in time. The clip slides into pocket-gripping mode very easily. And I'm happy to see the same cap click design is still being used (I have an old beat-up Safari). The Vista looks even better in person. Very modern/industrial in design. Balance is nearly 50/50. Definite GOOD buy. :)

Two in a row. I just got a Rotring Newton 600 in Lava finish, with an EF nib. I have to say that it's one of the more handsome modern pens I've owned. The nib is very comparable to the Lamy Vista, though perhaps even a little stiffer--almost like a manifold nib. Also, the cap is rather hard to remove... I guess it'll need a little break-in period!

This morning a Canada Post truck pulled up and the carrier brought into my waiting arms a package from Todd Nussbaum. I tore open the USPS box to find my new Duke Zorro's Mask f.p. (I swear, it posts to about tree feet long), Hero M86 Calligraphy Pen and Duke Santa f.p. (which I'm going to call my Canada Pen because it's the same colours as our flag).

Hitchhiking with the pens were bottles of Noodler's Cactus Fruit Eel and Dragon's Napalm.

It was quite the kitschy package.
