What Pen Did You Get Today?

I received a Pelikan M600 in red with a broad nib. Just inked it up with PR Black Cherry. Wonderful!

When I was fourteen years old, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded how much he had learned in the last seven years.

The pen received today was actually a Pencil to match a pen I recently aquired. I'm trying to round out my Black and Pearl Duofould collection, I aquired a Streamline Jr pencil to go with my Jr. pen. It is beautiful!

Now I have the following Black and Pearl Parker Duofolds:

Streamlined SR Pen and Pencil and pre streamlined pencil

Streamlined JR Pen and Pencil

Modern International Duofold Pen and Pencil

All with great color!

Also today form Pear Tree Pens I got a bottle of Waterman Purple to make some Binder Blurple, a Clarifontain notebook, and PR international Cartriges in Blue Suede, Tanzanite, and Black Suede.

Fun day!

My Cross Townsend (Sienna, fine nib) arrived today. Looks pretty, but I haven't tried it out, yet.

hi,

i just bought my beautiful parker televisor from dr. i of (bleep) fame. it is a beautiful pen made in canada. david gave me a whole history of the pen. we had lunch and wow does he know his pen history. david is a wonderful seller. sitting with him today i saw a parker, diamond metal pen in a silver web design. pfms with really unusual nibs and lots more. david knows about each and every one of his pens and he tells you about the variants--if any--and all. he has a treasure trove of information and best of all, he not only sells pens, he collects them.

I just wanted to start a poll showing the new pens people get every day!

Have Fun!

Today I received my second P 51. The first was given to me by my grandfather, when I was 8, and I had it a few months and then broke it. He bought it during the 40s, and I really wish I still had it, in good condition.

The one I got today came from eBay, judperl is the seller (no affiliation) and it is the second pen, and third item I have bought from them. The first was a white Pelikan M100 XF, which I raved about last week. I am even more jazzed by the P51. It is even better than I remember, and a demonstration of why they are so popular and considered valuable.

Upon receipt, I flushed the pen with soapy water, then rinsed thoroughly. Then I filled it with Skrip blue-black, and it started 1 second after I touched the pen to paper. It writes quite nicely, with a fine, wet line. I tried it on my new Apica notebook, also received today (from taylorsintherockies on eBay) and the paper is very FP friendly. I hesitate to recommend you buy from them, because I bought a small sample, in case the paper isn't FP friendly, the it is on very low price liquidation sale, and I want to get more, more, more before they run out. Tomorrow I will take it to work with me.

I ordered but haven't yet received a pen to ease my regrets of not getting a FPN LE. It's one of Dennis Bowden's (Parkvillepen.com) LE Black Simplicitys with a Fine 18K nib and silver trim. He was offering these with steel nibs before but was kind enough to accommodate my love of shiny, two-toned goodness. Hopefully I'll get it in the mail early next week! This might finally be the Bexley for me :D

My long-desired, patiently-waited-until-one-appeared-at-a-good-price Sheaffer VALOR. It is even better than ad copy and advance commentary led me to believe it might be.

There is a mini-review in the Sheaffer forum and I will cross-post a full review later in both the Pen Review and Sheaffer forums when I have wrung the sucker out...

Sheaffer VALOR

Gold Trim

I received my Cross Solo from Blackhill yesterday and have enjoyed it tremendously. As a Star Wars fanatic, I think I'll call it my Captain Solo pen!

Two in the last two days. First, a Sheaffer Valor, black with palladium trim and a fine nib. Then a Sheaffer Targa Cadmium Yellow Swirl Rollerball which I immediately converted to a fountain pen since I already had a spare fine nib unit.

Got a Wearever button filler (pink/maroon celluloid with a ruined nib) and a black no-name button filler with visulated section. That one is probably Wearever manufactur too.

Nice pens, cheap.

I always forget to post on the actual day pens arrive.

Yesterday I received a couple of Pilot 78Gs, a Fuliwen something-or-other (black lacquer with copper bits in it), a Duke Crane, and a Wality piston-filler. Huzzah for inexpensive pens! :)

Bought an italic point and feed for my Parker Sonnet to replace the 14k M - big mistake.

Also a set of 5 Manuscript calligraphy pens in the vain hope that I can teach myself cursive italic.

Oh, and a brand new suede covered journal which I have already sullied by writing on the first page.
