Bought Visconti's very last Divina Propozione gold edition from Ken Jones, Visconti's National Sales Manager at the Atlanta Pen Show. 30 minutes later I was seated before Richard Binder, Nibmeister to the Stars, grinding that little jewel to a smooth cursive italic.

Visconti's founder and CEO, Dante Del Vecchio is at the show, and I'm planning on pestering him tomorrow for a photo with the pen and asking him to autograph the inside of the display box. (BTW, how does one address a prominent Italian gentleman - what is the correct Italian social title?)

The pen is identical to the silver Divina Proporzione, except the spiraling metal bars, the endcaps, plunger, and clip are all 18 kt yellow gold instead of sterling silver. The yellow gold gives the pen a warmer look to complement the briarwood celluloid.

So tomorrow, in between drool tours of the pen show display tables, the Divina Proporzione and I will do Sunday Brunch at BrickTops - Shrimp & Grits and Eggs Benedict. I'm guessing a good letter and a full belly will result.

A small thin steel Diplomat. I was in "The Pen Shop" in York yesterday and asked the owner for a recommendation for a reasonably cheap pen that took international size cartridges. The Diplomat was what he suggested and I could try it out in the shop. Its very nice with a fairly wet (comapred to my Lamy mediums) medium nib and holds two small international cartridges without the spare one rattling. Just what I needed for all those Diamine cartridges I have piling up.

Okay, so it was actually yesterday...at the Atlanta Pen Show, two vintage finds: Mont Blanc 144G, circa 1950; Mont Blanc 146G, same vintage. Both in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition. I also picked up a Pelikan M800 (Red) with a Binder XXF nib. And they say you can't do calculus with a fountain pen...

Your produce alone was worth the trip...

I am very jealous. When I read a thread here about the new Visconti demonstrators, I knew that I would be hooked. You just happened to have bought the one that is on my list. Please do a review of it when you get a chance.

My new Pelikan M400 Tortise & White EF. Weeeeeeeeeeee! :D

I was a little worried that I would have to Chartpak it (Pelikan EF nibs don't always start off the best), but this little jewel writes marvelously with the Sailor red-brown I picked up with it.

This week I moved in a new house, so I was keen to see how the new address/new mailbox/new postman/new post office policies/new neighborhood would have work with my - now usual - shipping ritual.

Well finally today coming home I found my new Pelikan M200 citroenpen directly in the mailbox!

It's a nice color, and also the first "F" Pelikan nib I have. So I'm still deciding what ink to use in order to try the pen tomorrow.

Just one final consideration: the mailman stick it in the mailbox pretty hard, since the hole is slightly wider than the pen box itself... I should find this man and talk to him...

Cheers!

Today I received my NIB Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant Set, pen and pencil, in pastel green. The pen has a new sac, but since it was NIB I had to remove the price stickers and "medium" sticker from the pen. This is my first Snorkel pen, so I followed the original instruction paper included in the Sheaffer box and filled the pen with Noodler's Forest Green Ink. At first the nib would run dry after a paragraph or so of writing, but I gently persevered and now the pen is writing like a champ. I can't wait to take it to the office tomorrow.

Will do. I'll try to get some pictures of it this week and put a review up. So far, I'm very pleased with it, although the ink that came in the box isn't all that great. It refuses to write consistently on cheap paper :)

Finally got a Pelikan m205 Demonstrator... FEDEX delivered it this fine morning from Germany via Martiniauctions... a good trial run, I think I'll give her site another look. :hmm1: I know she has offered a few other "want" pens....

Now, the big question... should I ink this pen?... or perhaps get a second to keep un-inked and find a nice bright color for this m205.
