No pens today, but I hit the jackpot yesterday.

* Stipula Novecento from the green board. Ebonite. Mmm.

* Daily Herald ebonite set from a Martini auction.

* Two Pilot 78G pens from hisnibs.com.

Pilot VP from Mr. Binder with a fine nib ground down to an extra fine 15 degree left oblique. Very happy with it. I am quite confident that this will end up as my daily carry pen.

A lovely blue Decimo. This is my first Vanishing Point/Capless but I'm glad to say that the clip doesn't bother me. Was going to get the Pearl White but when I saw it in person realised that it has a shimmery effect that I didn't really fancy.

Looking to exchange ink samples! Available: Noodler's Bulletproof Black, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses, Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher, Noodler's Operation Overlord Orange

I attended the Philadelphia Pen Show yesterday. Bought the Following:

Parker "51" vac Cordovan brown/gold cap

Parker "51" vac India black/nicely frosted lustraloy cap

Parker 88 or Rialto, not sure which, but they are pretty much the same pen

Parker 50 Falcon flighter

Sheaffer Sentinel Snokel, pastel green

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.

Today I bought a new Parker Duofold Centennial True Blue LE (1652 of 5000) with a medium nib from Larry Dromgoole in Houston. This is a beautiful pen and the presentation box is second-to-none.

I also picked up my father's 1958 Parker "51" Special Demi in burgundy from Larry, who had sent it to The Southern Scribe for ink flow repair--it now writes like a dream!

My wife, bless her heart, went to Paradise Pens with me. I only went to get some ink and maybe a copy of Pen World or Stylus. ( No really, that's all I went after.) Well, she bought me a clear Lamy Vista fountain pen and a bottle of Private Reserve's purple mojo. Did I mention I truly love this woman?

Nothing today (its only 5:00 AM).

Yesterday I git a Hero 100 stainless/fine point and a gold/bronze/black Hero 2019 fine point.

I got lucky in the Hero quality control lottery and both pens are fine smooth writers.

Got my first real FP yesterday, a stunning black matte medium point LAMY studio.

Yesssssss.

Yesterday actually - my internet has been down - I picked up a couple of little beauties from the shop i regularly visit, but can find out very little about them.

Firstly, a pen I believe was made by Conway Stewart for a French company in the 50s, it's small, lady-sized I would say, in a stunning pink-red finish that I will eventually attempt to photograph. It's a piston filler.

There is no imprint but the nib is marked LE ROC.

The second pen is a small (less than 4 inch) BHR safety pen, again no imprint, that is filled with an eyedropper. Bit scary this one, The only way I can think to fill it is directly in through the nib, but I don't know how to get anything out again other than writing!

Again I'll attempt pictures tomorrow when it is light.

We can sail safely inside the harbour but that is not what ships were built for - anon

Folks, I just won an eBay auction for a Michel Perchin Blue Serpent LE fountain pen. This particular example is #40 from a total release of 250 pens. I've been hunting for one of these little beauties for a few months now. I like the color pallet - I took my undergraduate and medical school degrees at UNC-Chapel Hill - and the pen is basically Carolina blue. (If God is not a TarHeel, then why is the sky Carolina Blue?) The serpent theme reminds me of the medical caduceus.

The pen is carved from solid sterling silver, and designed on the theme of the Faberge Blue Serpent Clock Egg crafted by Mikhail Perikhin for the House of Faberge and presented by Czar Alexander III to his wife The Czarina Maria Fyodorovna in 1886. The Blue Serpent Egg is part of Prince Ranier II of Monoco's collection of Faberge Eggs, now under the stewardship of Prince Albert. A photo of the original Faberge Blue Serpent Clock Egg is here: http://andrejkoymasky.com/liv/fab/05/fab05.html

The serpentine guilloche work on the pen is amazing and the translucent blue enameling gives the pen depth. It's functional art.

When I've spent some ink getting to know the pen, I'll be sure to post a more thorough review.

This 1926/27 Parker Duofold Jr. was in today's mail.

First, the fact that it arrived today is startling, as I just paid James for it Saturday afternoon. James's quick shipping and the efficiency of the USPS are to be praised.

While the pen is not quite as nice cosmetically as my 1928/29 model Duofold Jr., it writes every bit as nicely. My previous model, which I have used almost daily for the past four years, is one of my two favorite pens (along with a sapphire Namiki Impressions). I may have to increase that favorite number to four now, because this Duofold Jr. is fantastic, as is the blue celluloid Platinum I got from Ryan last month.

After thinking I was done buying pens for a while, I "accidentally" bought a 1942 Parker 51 Vac in cedar blue. It ought to arrive early next week! :bunny01:

This one arrived today. Great pen!

Folks, I just won an eBay auction for a Michel Perchin Blue Serpent LE fountain pen.

I used to work in RTP, so I've seen that color. You have one beautiful pen!

UPS brought me a Pelikan Piccadilly Circus RB. Very pretty. I'm waiting for the matching FP.
