What Pen Did You Get Today?

I dont understand this. Every time I try to get a user 51 DJ, its always too good to use. I bought a lot of pens on ebay, with fuzzy pics. I noticed one was a DJ dove gray, so i got the lot. It came today. Turns out there is a T-1 set FP and Roller ball, a honey jewel pencil, a 75 felt tip and pencil and the DJ. I first pee my pants to see a t-1 set, and then look at the cap on the dj. Its a wavy line striaght line cap with the imprint at the top. Instantly, I look at the bottom and there it was, a first year crisp imprint. Today is my day!

A T-1 set in a lot from eBay. That's the find of the year, not just the day! I have to admit feeling a twinge of jealousy when I read that. When I buy something from a fuzzy photo, it's usually a fuzzy pen.

Parker Vacumatic I bought on Ebay last week, haven't used it yet but looks like it will ok, barrel fairly transparent where it should be and nib looks in good condition and writes smoothly when dipped, will fill to use next week.

 

Modern CS Duro, just back from CS having been sent for repair, sent because of poor ink take up (button filler) and looked like internal leak as barrel had darkened noticeably. Not really sure what they did as there was no note just the pen sent back (wish they would tell you what they did, Sheaffers did when I sent a couple of Balance IIs under warranty), but barrel looks OK and seems to take up ink, but still not as much as I expected.

 

Anyway will try out and see what happens (still got about 98 years on the warranty).

w00t!! Lamy 2000 just got back from filofax today! First pen I received had to wait for them to come in stock, then sent it back to vendor, got another dud, sent that one to Lamy, just got it back. Placed my order on February 28, and here I am May 1, albeit with a well-working 2000!!

I finally got my ebay purchases today. It's funny how a photo can be deceiving... all part of the learning process guess. One was a Parker 51, blue diamond, Grey with gold cap... cap has a dent which I can live with but the pen needs a fair bit of work... my first project pen Hurrah!

 

Second was a 1946 burgandy Pearl Parker vacumatic. Double jewled, lock-down...mmmm...Beautiful pen :D

Bertram's inkwell had a pen show then end of last week that showcased some very, very nice pens. I had to pick up the Aurora Syle Resin in black pepper. Love this pen.

I just received a burgundy Sheaffer 500-- one of the dolphin-faced ones from the early '60s. The delerious thing about it is that it's the first touchdown or snorkel I've had with the mechanism in good kip.

 

I can see why these things would have been banned from schools-- it's all I can do not to chase the cats around the house with it, shouting "Squirty squirt squirt!"

I just got my FPN pen a few minutes ago, too! Filled it with DC Blue, already taking notes with it. Writes beautifully. I like the looks of the pen even more than I'd imagined (photographs didn't do it justice).

ahhhhhhh... I'm two hours away from my mailbox and can't leave work for another hour or so. My only consolation at this point is that the pony express may not make it out here today anyway, so...; I'll be getting all the blue/blue black ink out to make a final decision.
