What Pen Did You Get Today?

George

Recommended Posts

A couple of interesting pens arrived in the mail today. First is a Parker 61 (gray Classic) with matching pencil along with the original box and instructions. Below the 61 is an azure blue Parker Vacumatic. I wanted this particular pen because it is a 1953 Canadian, the last year the Vacumatics were manufactured. For all I know, it could be the last Vacumatic ever to roll off an assembly line.

The Azure Vac is lovely!

I got my sheaffer imperial in the mail today! thank you T.B.!

The nib is slightly broader than I wld have like, writes like a medium, but overall, am loving the simple finish and light black body!

A NOS Surgens dating back from 1940, in ivory-coloured celluloid arrived today from Italy :cloud9: . Bought it from Stefano Broglia through fleabay

http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee187/ugakgedik/DSC00194.jpg

The Surgens is the small one at the bottom, measuring in at only 4 1/2" capped fitted with a very flexible 14K fine nib. Its celluloid looks suspiciously similar to the larger Montegrappa Historia Parchment pictured on top of it, though the Montegrappa is a shade lighter.

It's a button filler which doesn't seem to function. Unscrewed the section only to discover the lever inside already broken :crybaby: .... but since the sac is still in a very good condition, I plan to fill the pen by squeezing the sac with my fingers :roflmho: - which it does very well, too, by the way

A Conway Stewart 100 in Burnt Umber, xf nib. The burnt umber color is created by an application of an almost pointalist mix consisting of flecks of blues, deep wine reds and gray. This is the exact format of fountain pen that I like the most. The 18k nib is perfection, as is the weight and size. Many thanks to everyone who didn't snatch this beauty up from the FPN Marketplace before I did

Somehow, I think you meant to answer the "what pens are you carrying today" thread -- it'd be odd to receive three Waterman pens each day.

I too got a Conway Stewart 100. It's Sepia Blue with Medium point and is a silky smooth writer right out of the box! Very nice.

After the M400 white tortoiseshell yesterday, I was woken by the postman to find a parcel waiting for me. Inside there were 2 pens from my brother in Australia. A Sailor 1970s steel pocket pen with a 18k fine nib and a Platnium PKS 3000 also with a 18k nib. Gorgeous pens and I recommend these pens to everyone. If you haven't got one,buy one!

My birthday pen, a blue marbled Sailor Magellan.

It is a lovely pen, and the H-M nib writes wonderfully--slightly wider than the medium nib on my Platinum celluloid, and slightly narrower than the medium nib on my Namiki Impressions.

Now that the test writing has been done, it will be emptied, cleaned, and put away for two weeks. I can't wait to get it back!

In the last 4 days, I got:

Red & Black Parker Frontier (3 days ago)

Waterman Phileas Green Marbled (2 days ago)

Parker Vacumatic with incorrect clip (1 day ago)

I also ordered two Pelikanos.

On top of all of that, I should be getting two bottles of FPN ink soon.

In today's mail, I received my new Harley Davidson Waterman. It is a Phileas that Waterman did for Harley Davidson. It comes in a special metal container with the Harley Davidson logo and "Powered by Waterman" on the cover. It came with one cartridge and a converter. Thanks to the big American flag on the barrel, I think this pen just became my new every day carry pen. I'll try to get photos and add them later.

ETA photos.

I had told myself, "no more pens for at least 3 months." Yeah, well, like I ever listen to such drivel, even from myself...

I just ordered the Lamy Studio in classic black.
