What Pen Did You Get Today?

Today, I received the green Hero 616 that I ordered from Yi Cheng Trading. It is my first hooded nib pen. So far, I really like it. I especially like the vintage look and feel of it.

Got a dove gray P 51 with pencil, in box. Have not yet inked it, as I just got home from work.

I found a little treasure at the flea-market today. It was this marbled-red pen with gold cap & barrel bands and black ends, with 'Jinhao' engraved into the cap-band. The nib has: '18kt GP' (gold-plated?) engraved on it, and two Chinese characters ('Jin Hao') engraved into there as well.

The pen is solid and writes well. Has a fine nib and looks pretty, but the converter...hmmm. Half the time it won't even fill properly. I think I'll have to buy another one. I may do a review of it once I've gotten the hang of it.

I got two vintage Esterbrook lever fill pens from a fellow collector. I, also, got an intriguing pen. It is clear green plastic with a gold clip and band around the base of the cap. On the clip and band, it says Reform. On the band, it also says Germany. It uses a piston fill system. That's all I know about it... so far. For only $10 though, it will be fun to find out more.

Hero 329 -- it's my first Chinese pen, and for the money, I am incredibly impressed.

A couple of interesting pens arrived in the mail today. First is a Parker 61 (gray Classic) with matching pencil along with the original box and instructions. Below the 61 is an azure blue Parker Vacumatic. I wanted this particular pen because it is a 1953 Canadian, the last year the Vacumatics were manufactured. For all I know, it could be the last Vacumatic ever to roll off an assembly line. Edited by jonro

Stopped at the Post Office on the way to work this morning and picked up a package from luckygrandson. It had a new-in-the-box Blue Sapphire Waterman Edson in it that he had listed here on the Marketplace. No pics yet and I haven't had a chance to ink it because it's only lunchtime and I won't be able to do either until I get home. But it's a definite keeper! Thank you luckygrandson!

I received a gray Parker 51 this morning.

It's my second 51. With the first 51, a beautiful black pen, I am not happy at all because it is scratchy.

This gray one is a lot better. Have it cleaned and inked and it writes good, though the ink flow is a bit poor for my taste.

But I will give it some time. I had different vintage pens where the ink flow improved with regular use ....

Should check better for spelling mistakes .....

The Azure Vac is lovely!
