What Pen Did You Get Today?

I received a Danitrio Cumlaude from Winedoc today. It's a nice big pen with attractive celluloid. The nib, which is a fine made from stainless steel, is exceptionally smooth.

Yesterday I received my Stipula Saturno and Omas Milord (old-style). Both are terrific looking and both seem to be terrific writers on first inking. Today I received a Parker 45 and a Waterman C/F; haven't tried either yet, but will do so later.

Platinum Blue Celluloid.

A beautiful pen with a very nice Japanese medium nib. Since this is a Christmas gift I will empty it when I get home tonight and hand it over to my wife who will place it in giftbox exile for two weeks.

Parker "51" Aerometric Burgundy

Just received this beautiful example, even though it was described as user grade, its far from it, the barrel is very clean with and the gold cap is in beautiful condition. The nib is perfect, a good F nib. I cant wait to ink it up. Many thanks to dwmatteson for making this possible. Cheers

An Esterbrook 407 dip-less fountain well and pen with 9550 nib. Looks like it came out of First National Bank, circa 1944. I'll buff it up and make it the retro shrine on my desk.

Pilot Sesenta (Decimo LE) with a nice, smooth fine nib. The barrel color/pattern is striking, yet elegant and subtle at the same time. Beautiful pen (and I got an excellent price on it to boot). Now that the Sesenta has arrived, it'll soon be time to get rid of it's sibling, the blue Decimo. ;)

Sounds awesome, just like something I'd be looking for. Want to get a nice stub nib. Been thinking about one of these on my lust list, and having it custom ground. Any suggestions out there?

I got a pen order from Todd at isellpens.com -- no, actually, my wife was not home to sign for it, so Fedex wouldn't leave it. They will bring it back tomorrow while I am home, and my teal 78G will get inked. It's a shame I don't have any ancient Sheaffer Peacock blue to put in it. Or even any turquoise or aqua ink of any shade. Just a choice of 3 blues (Pelikan, Hero, & Noodler's la Coleur Royale) Pelikan Green and Skrip blue -black, which is gray-green in everything but Sheaffer pens, in which it is truly blue-black. And yes, I thoroughly clean my pens (dish soap and water, then clear water) before inking for the first time, and before changing ink colors. Weird!

After a loooong spell of being "good", found a fountain pen I wanted for Christmas and asked my wife to get it for me. She replied, "ok but just where am I going to find one of those". My reply, "Just keep an eye on the ole mailbox the next couple of days and I bet one will show up!" Sure enough it worked!! All the way from Switzerland via Ebay a beautiful Brown Tortoise Pelikan 400 with a flexy medium nib!

When it showed up I told her that it was mandatory that I check it out thoroughly to ensure every thing was ok!! She even bought it, for a few minutes... I gave it a good looking over, tested the piston dipped it in ink and played for a few seconds. Then I heard "Hey no writing with that! It's a Christmas present! So a quick flush and back it went into the box, wrapped and under the tree. Just 11 more days to wait!!!!
