Ok, not technically "today," but two days ago I got a Monteverde Black Tie (the carbon fiber one). Fine point. great pen. Loaded it up with Nooder's Fox Red. awesome color!

Today I won an auction from pentiques.com - a 1940 Duofold Vacumatic (striped duo). Hooray!

Got a Maki E from China. They left a brown slip in the mailbox yesterday, and SWMBO is going to pick it up at the post office today. If it is as nice as I hope it is, I will probably order some more and resell them, as they are less expensive than most of the Maki E I have seen around.

After a five year hiatus, I finally have another blue auroloide Aurora Optima.

Today's mail brought a package containing the Optima with a medium italic nib. I posted a message here about the return of this pen to my little fold.

The Optima is just about the ideal pen for me: beautiful celluloid, the right size for my hand, and expressive nib. I am glad to have both the green and blue auroloide models once again.

I received a Parker Duofold Marine Check (Centennial) yesterday, and apart from the fact that the nib was waaay too wet, it's a great pen. I did a quick search on how to adjust the tines, and a few hairraising exercises later, it was spot on!

I also got my package from Norman yesterday, containing a Hero Accountants pen, which is great and a pilot 78G with a stub, which is truly excellent! There was also some ink but the PR Sherwood green is very "runny" and the PR Buttercup is nigh invisible. The PR Chocolate is very nice, a new favorite I think!

So, maybe that ink exchange is a good idea, I should have tried those inks before buying. Anyone for a nearly new bottle of PR Sherwood green fast dry?

Best regards,

Jarno.

OMAS 360 from the mighty Bay.

It's quite honestly bigger and blacker than I thought it would be. It also writes beautifully!

I am very happy about this purchase.

I only just ordered this baby Monday, and it's already here:

My first Pelikan, one of the M605s from Pam Braun. I haven't even inked this sucker yet (I just got home, and I'm trying to keep it on the down low) but I am extremely excited. This is my first fountain pen with a gold nib. It's also my first pen that I've felt a bit guilty spending so much cash on. Heck, I was training a new guy at work today, and he noticed my Lamy Safari. He thought it was insane that someone would spend $20 for a "stinkin' pen."

But enough about him--I've got to go try this out.

I am currently in posession of some cartridge refilling kits (aka syringes). Why refill cartridges?

1) save money by not buying more cartridges

2) save money by not buying converters

3) cartridges hold more ink! (than converters)

4) use whichever inks you like

If any of you are interested in the wonderful world of refilling your own cartridges (and mixing inks the easy way), check out my post in the marketplace (search for cmaxx).

I finally own my first PFM (black PFM III) and it was love at first write. I like everything about this pen and will undoubtedly acquire more in the future. After all, there are 5 models and 5 colors in each model.

My first Parker 51 arrived today; the 51 "Special". Black body, lustroloy cap, transluscent jewel. It's from a recent eBay win, so I'm aware that components COULD be franken-penned together, but, for the most part, to my untrained eye, it appears to be more-or-less a solid piece of pen. Lighter than I'd like, I think, but not so light that it feels 'cheap' to me; cap posted does give it a decent balance towards the back when in-hand.

Maybe once I'm done looking at it, capping it, uncapping it, posting the cap, posing it on the desk....... maybe then I'll ink it and test drive it. I may even photo it.

Man o man where to start.

Today I got my Omas Old Milord Grey...how come nobody told me it has that weird filling system

and from the ebay a lovely red ripple Waterman with a heart nib...but alas the sac seems to have gone on vacation and the nib is a bit scratchy so I'm thinking that a trip to a repair maestro is on the books.

Last week I got a Waterman red slim Exception a Sheaffer Emerald Green Modern Nova Laque Crest, Easterbrook

Copper J and a Parker Golden Pearl Vacumatic. All in fabulous shape.

I think I have a slight addiction.

I didn't get a pen today, but I did receive a Esterbrook 3550 Renew-Point nib, and it writes quite differently than my 9450, but as smooth as I hoped it would. In a big way, it does make my red J a whole new pen!

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! I hate you guts! I have been trying to get one of these for a couple of months now and keep getting out-bid or something else happens. But I will get one.

Hope it writes as well as it looks, and it looks great.

Stipula Etruria Nuda with a 1.1 nib - great !! My first really new pen in years. I just couldn't believe the amount of packaging. I got it from Melspens and Mel was unbelievably quick in delivering it.

I just purchased a Lamy Vista with a medium nib. Haven't had a chance to write much, but what I have I like it. Will be used for note taking as a Tech Support engineer for Siemens.

Did not receive a pen today but I just won an auction for a Pelikan 400 NN tortoise with a BB nib!

Can't wait to get it ..... :)

Got the pen meanwhile. It is a beauty. The nib is not BB - more like M. Makes it a great everyday writer!
