What Pen Did You Get Today?

I helped my wife order my Christmas present, a Pelikan M400 White Tortoise (Fine). I also picked out some brown Visconti ink with the ink well. I had to replace the brown ink my mom stole. I gave here a pretty blue Esterbrook and then she asked if she could have by brown Pelikan ink, go figure. I guess that is what I get for trying to get someone into this 'sport'.

Hi, Blake

I agree wholeheartedly with your incredibly wise choice for your up-coming Christmas present (which your wife shall be paying for, no less!): the absolutely stunning Pelikan M400 in White Tortoise. It has got to be one of the classiest looking fountain pens in existence. I mean it. It's on my short list of 'must-haves', incidentally.

Best Wishes from Encinitas, CA.

Hi all,

i am having an amazing pen day. I got back from the post office with a beautiful Aurora 88 made in the 50s (i think) with a chrome cap (2 parallel line then space). It is in near mint condition which is rare for pens of this age so i am super happy. It fills perfectly and writes a nice semiflex fine line :happyberet:

As i was exploring my new pen, the dorrbell rang and the postman delivered the 1st year double jewel cordovan parker 51 that i bought from Jay! The pen is absolutely stunning. You can find the photos on fpn marketplace and in the pen photography section.

I thnk Jay's photos are amazing. A big thank you to Jay.

It looks like my weekend is shaping up nicely

Best Wishes

So I branch out from Pelikans and out of the three new pens, the only one that comes in as expected is the Pelikan with an EF nib, those horrible terrible EF nibs... :ltcapd:

I take it you received a 'scratchy' Pelikan EF nib, which seems to be the rule and not the exception these days. Are you planning to send your EF to a nibmeister for tuning?

In any case, I'm sorry to hear about it.

Actually Clive that was what is called sarcasm, I am sick and tired of people bad mouthing the EF nibs from Pelikan. I have more than a dozen EF nibs and NONE of them are scratchy!

What I was alluding to was the Pelikan was the ONLY pen that came in just as I expected, perfect!

Pelikan EF nibs RULE!

Cheers.

PelikanPenman,

I'm glad (and relieved) to learn it was merely sarcasm and not the real deal, for I'm planning to order a Majesty with either a F or EF nib. If Pelikan EF's are that good . . . then one will most likely grace the 'business end' of my future Majesty.

Pelikans most definitely RULE!!!

Cheers!

I my Retro 51 Scripmaster today. I ordered it a few weeks ago, but I got it today because it was a birthday gift. It writes very nice, but I put purple ink in it and it's coming out black.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

Please shut this thread done and remove all traces of it.

I have not seen anything new that has anything to do with FPs in so long that I am having bad dreams about gnawing pencils.

Please visit my wife's website.

Just got a cheap little Hero 336, with some purple Pelikan ink to go with it. So cheap that at S$1.20(~US$0.80), the bottle of ink costs almost three times more at S$3.55(~US$2.30). Also got a Pilot of a model I can't find any information on that cost me S$7(~US$4.70). In fact, its starting to look suspiciously like the Hero... :hmm1:

Looking to exchange ink samples! Available: Noodler's Bulletproof Black, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses, Noodler's Bad Belted Kingfisher, Noodler's Operation Overlord Orange

Last night I came home to the Marlen Basilea that I bought from Cloud on the Marketplace. I haven't had a chance to ink it, but it sure is pretty!

My first Conway Stewart...... not really sure what I make of this. Anyway here are three pics and please feel free to let me know what you think. Oh and how do I make my pics that I upload smaller? any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks

Today I got four (4), 1 flexy dipping pen as a gift for my daughter in law, and 3 from a vendor at the Dallas Pen Show, out of her 3 for $10 bin. There is a Pilot, probably a 3A, a black Hero 330, and a pen of unknown manufacture with an extremely cool clip. Last night I bought new nibs for my two Parker 45s, from Susan Wirth. An XF and an F.

Ian,

Exceptional pen (understatement) -- ditto for the pics! The scrollwork on the pen's gold cap is exemplary. LOVE it!!! Really like the 'punch' (delivery) of the overall package: its presentation box, along with the Certificate of Authenticity and Owner's Guide. Smashing!

Your digital camera's software package ought to have included rudimentary photo editing software that can be used to adjust a video file's (JPEG, BMP, GIF, etc.) attributes. You can even fiddle with a file's attributes in certain file viewing software, i.e., like the program you used to open the files you've uploaded here. Microsoft Windows 98, XP and Vista typically contain a very simple editing program called 'Paint.' It certainly should work well enough to suit your needs in this particular application (filesize reduction).

Hey! Tell ya' what . . . I'll happily swap a copy of Microsoft Paint for that shiny new Conway Stewart of yours!!!!!! :D :roflmho:

Best Regards from Encinitas, CA.
