What Pen Did You Get Today?

Today I received a Pelikan M400 in the discontinued Tortoise-shell and Dark Brown! It is sooooo beautiful! :D

I would bombard you all with lovely photos, but I loaned my best macro lens to a friend last week. :headsmack:

This is GREAT news, Laura!

Until you get a chance to upload a digital photo of your beautiful Pelikan M400 Toroise Shell/Dark Brown fountain pen, I found the following JPEG on the 'Net. Is it close enough to yours - for 'government work'? :D

Congratulations on your purchase!!!

Ok my long dry spell is over!! My Birthday pen arived today!!! It is super sweet!!

Thanks to DocNib I am now the proud owner of a :

CONKLIN #3NL Crescent Filler FP in BCHR GF Trim (5.25" Long), 14K-#2 Nib

This c1920 pen is in beautiful condition and came restored and ready to write! I have writers cramp in my right hand from all the scribbling I've done tonight! The fine flex nib is a sweet writer and lots of fun to use! I am Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

Happy B-Day! Don’t mind me, I will just be over here in the corner thinking jealous thoughts about your new Conklin, nice pen, congrates on that too.

(Actually I have nothing to be jealous about, I got 7 pens in the mail last week, 6 PAN ink-ball pens from Dennis Lively, though Diane snagged one immediately, and a beautiful Snorkel TM that had never been inked. Need to get the seals and a sac put in it but have been having fun just inking it by dipping. Nice nib. And I also got a NOS cigar case that will make a great pen case for my larger pens.)

A nice little black striped Parker Vac, I asume a Junior or Debutante a bit smaller than my others, I think a 1942 model, imprint is a bit faint fills and writes nicely.

It has been a good and bad week. I have 8 new inks! And three new pens!!!! Well sort of.

First up, a Pelikan M605 EF, purchased from one of our members and it does not even look like it has been used. Perfect condition and works lovely and has one of the new inks in it.

Second up a Sailor Professional Gear, black and silver furniture of course, with the saibi togi nib (XXF) nib. Overall I am pleased with the fit and finish, and knew going in that the filling system was C/C so I can not really complain about that, well okay I can ...lol. The nib, well here is why I am waiting to do a review, because it is not a good nib. I am hoping it will improve.

Third up, and this was a biggie, was the delievery finally of the Omas African ebony wood Arte Italiana collection with EF nib. I purchased it six weeks ago and it came in FINALLY last night...only it didn't. Instead of the Arte Italiana (Paragon) I received a 360 Ebony wood....UGH. And this was purchased from a B&M in Italy, with plenty of e-mail and telephone conversations. I can see how easy it is to confuse these two :bonk:

So I branch out from Pelikans and out of the three new pens, the only one that comes in as expected is the Pelikan with an EF nib, those horrible terrible EF nibs... :ltcapd:

lol, it's almost like life wants you to live up to your name. Seriously, though, sorry to hear about your negative experiences concerning the other two pens.

A dark brown Esterbrook lever fill desk pen. Needs a new ink sac, but otherwise in excellent condition. Came with a non-matching burgundy Esterbrook desk pen base. Now I need a matching pen for the base, and a matching base for the pen. So the madness continues!

Regards,

Ray

Four pens today. Two ebay Sheaffer pens went straight from the seller to the repair shop for sacs and two Tuckys came home with them for me to consider.

I love gifts from the Mail-Lady!

I take it you received a 'scratchy' Pelikan EF nib, which seems to be the rule and not the exception these days. Are you planning to send your EF to a nibmeister for tuning?

In any case, I'm sorry to hear about it.
