What Pen Did You Get Today?

Two showed up today, an amusing tale from two sides of the world

One Lamy AL-Star in Ocean Blue from the UK with a medium nib (think I've got another 1.1mm stub tucked away here somewhere for it)

And from Malaysia...another Lamy AL-Star but this time the 2010 Coffee Ltd Edition with a fine nib (luckily)

My Dark AL-Star collection grows, muhahah.

I got a Lamy 99 37 yesterday, but I couldn't find this thread until today.

It has a OB nib, and the piston is a bit stiff. It looked clean from the outside and as a result in my haste I grabbed my bottle of Noodler's Gruene Cactus Eel and filled the pen immediately. The ink writes so dark that I'm almost certain there was dried black ink in the pen. I hope it doesn't react and create a problem in the bottle and/or pen. The flow is not ideal, but that could very well be a function of the less than ideal ink inside it at the moment.

Montblanc 144 Barley Sterling Silver with a broad nib

The nib lays down a consistent, wet line.

Today I got a TWSBI ROC 100 broad nib with a bonus Montesa multipen that has mechanical pencil, black, and red ballpoint tips in it. The Montesa is really nice (the TWSBI is exactly what I expected which is a good thing).

Yesterday I got my Nakaya Aka Tamenuri Dorsal. This pen is so much better to write with than any of my other pens that it will be a long time before I use a different one, a loooong time.

It is what it is.

My first Esterbrook. I was trying to figure out what pen to use for my final tonight and in my mailbox was the red Esterbrook! The nib feels a bit too scratchy but I'm going to try out the brown paper bag trick.

Just got four Pilot 78Gs (one in each color) and a couple Cross Solos while I still can. Just ordered a MB Starwalker and some PR cartridges to go with it :clap1:
