My wife caught me opening the second-hand Montegrappa 1930 Extra Black Bamboo F that was delivered today. "You're funny!" she says; "At least it's not cars or firearms . . ." (In the UK, the only version of the latter a private person can legally own or use are shotguns. The Olympic shooting team has to train abroad . . .)

On Monday, I got an Aquamarine Lamy Safari, a Bexley Corona Summer Storm, and a Gate City New Dunn.

 

Today, I got Noodler's Ahabs.

A burgundy Parker 17 Lady. It's tiny. Flushed it, filled it with Monteverde burgundy (good match) and it seems to be behaving quite well - better than expected really. This is my first pen that is almost as old as I am!

Today is a holiday in the US and there is no mail, buy yesterday I got a TWSBI Diamond Roc 540 from the Goulets. So far I have written about half the first fill, and I am loving it! Little scratchier than I thought for a medium point, but hit will probably work itself out. Looking forward to the 540 Smoke. But when?

A Sheaffer Imperial 1 in grey. Absolutely immaculate. I cannot see that it has ink in it. The seller thought that it might have gone for more than what I bid (£18) but added the postscript , "that's your gain."

Yesterday, I received a Noodler's Ahab in Medieval Lapis. After some flushing with an ammonia solution and adjusting the feed, it's good to go.

I've been going the China/ India way lately and just received a Duke "Chaplin" in the mail. It's got a pretty smooth f/m nib and is quite a hefty pen in hand.

 

I think I'll order a large bottle of Noodlers so I can play with a platinum preppy that has been modded into eyedropper and a Kaweco classic sport.

I picked up a beautiful Vintage Aurora 88. M nib, no flex with plentiful ink flow. This pen is great for taking notes and writing fast.

Yesterday I got a needle point Rotring 900 and the Kaweco AL Sport.

It's my first Kaweco pen, altough I imagined it a little bigger, you got to love this pen.

Currently waiting for a Wörther Compact FP.
