What Pen Did You Get Today?

A Hero 383. It arrived yesterday and I am using it today at the office. :) It is surprisingly light for as much brass as I think it has.

A Conway Stewart 100 Series in Marbled Blue with an IM nib.

It's a handsome pen. My third CS and the best writer out of the box of the three. It wants Blue-Black ink, so I fed it Waterman's. It seems happy. I'm happy.

Awaiting a Pelikan M620 Piazza Navona with a CI nib.

I have to stop reading here. I keep finding pens and places to look for them. I happened to be in a Target store today and saw a Pilot "Plumix". For under $7 I couldn't pass it up. I inked it up whilst waiting for my interview at Books a Million and tried it out on my little Moleskine notebook. The pen has a straight nib like a italic nib and it came with a blue cartridge. I was pleasantly surprised as to how well this little pen writes. I think I'll try and find more cartridges for it and it will become a frequent flier in my pocket, and at about $7 I won't be totally crushed if it disappears.

Pilot Custom 823 came yesterday and it's every bit as great as everyone has commented on FPN!

Glad to hear you're enjoying yours. Using and loving mine "lots."

Today, I visited Edwards of San Marco in Jacksonville, Fl. and picked up a Lamy convertor, a Parker S10APO Urban in white chiseled M nib with a convertor and a bottle of Parker Quink Black and a bottle of Private Reserve Naples Blue.

Today has been like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! I went to the mailbox and found 2(!!) boxes. the first one I pulled out was from Peyton Street Pens, a Sheaffer 777 gold filled F nib pen that is the pen I remember my father using when I was a teen and cannot find, so I was directed to Teri at Peyton Street and she had just what I wanted and at a price point I could not pass up. Now the inner battle whether to ink the pen or just place it with similar remembrances of his. they also included a plastic bodied Sheaffer with a soccer ball imprint as a gift. the 777 arrived in what I as a novice pen owner as pristine condition and obviously NOS as indicated in the description.

The second box I opened was my order from Norman Haase at His nibs. It contained a Pilot 78G in jet black with a Fine nib, converter included; a Duke 116 Red Carbon Fibre, also with converter, and a Bookworm 702 in black and grey with converter also. I haven't inked any of these pens yet, but wanted to share my good fortune!

I'll look in the FAQ and see how difficult it is to upload JPG's and perhaps show off the new toys.

Two Noodler's piston-fill pens that were Pen Boutique specials last week. Less than $25 total--for the two. Very pleased with them as I inked both already and used them in the office.

Received 3 pens yesterday, like Christmas!

Hero 100 'Flighter' - F nib - Great looking pen and cheap enough to use as a throw around. Awesome writer too, maybe the smoothest writing pen I've ever used.

Lamy CP1 - Purchased with the Hero just to have another fairly cheap toss around pen.

Sheaffer Targa Slim Grey Ronce Marble finish with GP furniture - 14k Stub nib - I was really looking forward to this pen and wasn't disappointed. The finish is really stunning. I haven't inked it yet, but am anxious to try out the stub nib.

Oh yum yum yum, I got a Lamy from Todd Nussbaum and it is a real friendly broadnibbed guy. I like it so very much, it's a Al Star in Ruby and I inked it up with Noodler's American Eel Blue. Very nice combination there. Yum.

A Pelikan M620 Piazza Navona. It's more handsome than the photos reveal. It came with a customized rather broad cursive italic. It was "used," but the nib acts like it needs writing in.

Today's treat was a new medium nibbed Sailor Yamanaka Nuri Cranes in burgundy; a very nice example of Yamanaka screen printing at a reasonable price.

Let's see...

In the past two weeks I've received a TWSBI 540 (XF), Pilot Vanishing Point (M), and 4 Kaweco Classic Sports. I grin every time I use one :D
