First and probably only ever double Dupont day for me. The new Magic Nights arrived, plus I found a good deal on that awesome crocodile patterned pen they made a few years ago. Took a closeup to show the glitter effect of the encased silver dust on the Magic Nights pen- love it already!

I got a Diplomat Excellence A Marakesh in brown today at the Atlanta Pen Show!

This one, in fact:

I absolutely love it! I've christened it with Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku, a bottle of which I also purchased at the show. Wahoo!

I got farmersmum's blue pearl vac! More precisely, I ordered/paid for it. I won't GET it for a couple of weeks yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Very nice looking pen. I'll have to take a look at one of those the next time I find myself at a pen show.

I got a Pilot Custom 823 today from Pam Braun. So far, it seems like a really nice pen. I don't know if it'll unseat the Pelikan M800 as my favorite, but it's good to have in the rotation.

Today I received my Edison Hudson Pen...(Edison Pen Company). These are my initial impressions (I'm following Brian Goulet's example ;-). I'm still a newbie in the world of fountain pens.post-43025-0-14411600-1302560494.jpgpost-43025-0-33605100-1302560423.jpgpost-43025-0-35125200-1302560476.jpgpost-43025-0-84408600-1302559258.jpg---The comparison are: Edison Hudson, Edison Nouveau Premiere Fountain Pen - Cappuccino, Lamy Studio Fountain Pen - Viole, Platinum Music Nib Fountain Pen - Black

I got 2 boxes of R.L. Arnold Pen Co., Inc. No. 736 Stainless Steel, Gold Plated, Iridium tipped dip pens.

Put one in the pen holder and it is writing like a dream. Very firm, fine point.

Sorry no pictures yet but late yesterday, I received a wonderful MB K132 (K = short version), with my first OBB nib, from Germany. Oh, having just written that sentence, I've just realised I've never even had/used a B nib before!

Got more pens on route but the pesky bank holidays, this Friday and the following Monday, are bound to keep me in suspense for a few days longer (sigh).

I just got a Lamy 2000. It is my first non-cartridge/converter pen I love it's medium nib for quick note taking.

First gold-nibbed pen today, a Parker sonnet! Writes smoothly and feels better in the hand than any of my previous pens.

Also, it was twice as expensive as any of my previous pens. I had gotten a safari a few weeks ago, but something had happened and it was having some problems and so I returned it, and put the store credit towards the sonnet. Very glad I did, as the sonnet is AMAZING. I love it above all pens I have owned.

Then again, maybe I'm just new to this... Does anyone feel that there are pens nicer to write with for cheaper than the sonnet?

Thanks,

Haumea

I received a black Bexley America the Beautiful with a 0.9 mm cursive italic nib. Writes like a dream. Richard Binder ground the nib and it is perfect. Lovely pen.

Pelikan M205 Clear Blue Demonstrator:

http://www.stefanv.com/pens/fpn_photos/m205-rhodia.jpg

I bought this as a body-only from Richard Binder, because I had a spare nib. I recently replaced the gold-plated nib in my M200 with a new one, because the plating had worn off the old one. After polishing the rest of the plating off, I had a nice stainless steel nib needing a home.

I think I've done pretty well here. $20 for a 1990 M200 + $22 for a new nib (bought in person at Zeichen Centre Ebeling in Berlin) + $58 for an M205 pen body. For a total of $100, I have a black M200 and a clear blue M205.

On Thursday, I received my much wished for MB 139. The weight of the pen caught me by surprise, heavier than its contemporary, the iconic MB 149. Different also is the slightly shorter cap and body, and the 139 has a slight tapered as well as shorter grip-section. However, those twin silver rings command attention and the pen's scarcity demands attention. Resting in my pen drawer, the pen looks truly majestic alongside its siblings, 136, 134 and 132. Just a 138 to go, if luck and funds allow.
