M200 nib in broad, to replace an xf I loathe (it's a good nib, but I'm just not into something nearly that narrow)

Noodler's pens in burgundy and black

Merlin 33 grey (I think they'd call it grey shell)

My second day of Raleigh's pen show brought me a black Lamy Safari (my first) in medium.

I also bought my wife a Lamy, this one a ballpoint Al-Star in raspberry.

Saturday at the Raleigh Pen Show I got a Parker 51 set from Tom/Old Gris. Next was a Pelikan 205 Blue demonstrator from Richard Binder. Finally Deb Kinney ground my Online Vision from a medium to a fine cursive italic. A very good show.

Yesterday I got my Sailor Sapporo, black w/ rhodium trim, F nib. Writes like a dream. This is going to be my main writer.

Today I got a lovely little Blackbird Self-Filler from the late 1930s. It has a 14K nib with a bit of flex. I got it from Andy Evans in the UK. I'm learning Hiragana at the moment, and this is perfect for writing those Japanese characters. It's like a tiny little brush! I'm learning one character a day as part of my resolve to make a clear distinction between work time and play time, and to spend my play time doing things that are fulfilling instead of feeling guilty that I'm not working. I only know three characters so far: あ (a) い (u) and う (i). I'm not learning the language, but I wanted to learn the kana so that when I do look at something written in Japanese, I might recognise the occasional word or placename that I do know.

Anyway, here are the pix of the Blackbird. (You all know what a Sapporo looks like.)

Edison Morgan in Persimmon Swirl :bunny01:. It writes exactly as I hoped it would, and the colors are gorgeous. A hearty :notworthy1: to Brian at Edison Pens for such a fabulous pen.

I sent a postcard with a bunch of used stamps from Holland to a person in China through Postcrossing postcard swap. I told him he didn't have to send me stamps back since I'm not collecting anymore. I just like to give the stamps away to other folks. I got into postcrossing to have a good reason to use my fountain pen in the first place.

Well, he was so nice to send me a genuine Hero fountain pain instead from China. Areally everyday user for students. I don't know what type it is yet, but I cleaned it and filled it and it writes very nice. A pen with a story.

What a pleasant en wonderfull present to receive!!

Today I received a Kaigelu 316, white veined, from Todd at isellpens.com (not affiliated). He recently got them back in stock, and even though I had purchased a brown and smoke one here on FPN a week before, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Beautiful pen, fast shipping, great service.

Today a little Birdie showed up. A Pilot Birdie, that is. I'd wanted one for a while but the little things don't pop up for sale too often, and I finally scored one in India (NOS, even!) on the dreaded auction site a couple of weeks ago.

A Varuna Garuda, a (very) large black ebonite ED pen with F steel nib, is waiting for me at home. It came with a Pilot CON-70 converter as well, which is how I'll ink her up initially. I'm leaning toward Perle Noire for the baptism.

Happiness is an Indian ED!
