I picked up my 1991 Pilot / Namiki Vanishing Point to day and re-inked my Esterbrook J with some fun ink.

Here's my shameless fun picture thread. :)

Finally bought a long-looked-for-but-unfound-until-now NIB Montblanc Alexandre Dumas--it's already filled with Montblanc Mahatma Gandhi ink and has filled up several pages of my latest Rhodia journal. This pen will be a favorite of mine for a long time to come, if I know anything about myself at all...

Now to keep an eye open for a Montblanc F. Scott Fitzgerald!

Just ordered:

- Lamy Al-Star Ocean Blue F nib;

- Lamy Safari black 1.1i nib;

- Lamy Safari white M nib;

- Noodlers Eternal Black;

- Diamine Classic Red;

- Private Reserve American Blue.

First time to play around with different nibs and inks, will be interesting to see the feeling so that I can then start filling with ink my most expensive FPs...

A Reform 1745. Very happy with it. Lovely little pen. My first grown up FP was a Reform.

On Saturday my sister gave me my mother's Sheaffer Triumph. I can remember her writing with it back in the 1950s and it is neat to have it. The Vac-Fil plunger won't move, so I'm going to have to send it to an expert for repairs, but I dipped the nib in some FPN Van Gogh Starry Night Blue and it writes very nicely, so I have high hopes of being able to use it in the future.

Not a fountain pen, but just this weekend I purchased a Visconti midi Van Gogh, demonstrator rollerball. I loved the size, and it's clear and silver, and the refill is silver as well, so it has a really cool look and feel (it's rather small). And, it was on sale!!

Got another Waterman Kultur. This makes my third one. Nice cheap little pen that writes great. Also got four ink samples from Pear Tree along with their cartridger/converter fill kit.

I've been indulging over the past three days:

1) Vintage Parker 51 (Thank you Jorge)

2) Vintage Aurora 88 Nikargenta (Thank you Paolo)

3) Visconti Wall Street LE -- Platinum with a fine palladium nib (Thank you Bry)

And I quickly learned two things:

1) The Fountain Pen Network is like crack. You know the classified section is bad for you in so many ways, but it can make you feel so good....

2) The people here are incredibly helpful. Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on my decisions!

Cheers,

Darryl
