I just received a Pilot Custom 845 Urushi from Tazio (engeika on eBay).

Beautiful, large and hefty . . . just to my liking. I'm anxious to write with it, but haven't inked it yet, because it's missing something that I really wanted. In the eBay listing for this pen, it's marked "Urushi" in gold on the back of the cap, just above the band. The pen I received is not marked. I have heard great things about Tazio as a trusted eBay seller and I'm hoping that he will exchange it for a pen that is marked, since this is my first urushi pen.

Just a side note about my purchase from Taizo. He replied immediately and apologized for the problem, which was not at all his fault. He stated that every Custom 845 should be marked "Urushi" and this was probably a Pilot error. He offered to refund my purchase price or order one for me with the marking intact. He also offered to take care of my return shipping charges! What more could one ask? Add me to the fan list for Taizo, a/k/a "engeika."

 

P.S. Of course, I opted for the replacement.

This seems like an appropriate place to make my first post: I went shopping today and returned with a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 149.

 

I've read the reviews, and seen the divided opinions on this forum, and deliberated over the purchase for some time.

 

I finally tried one out today and was very happy to part with the cash!!

Today the postman delivered my first '51' Vacumatic, which I purchased in the Marketplace from addio6.

 

It's stunningly beautiful to me - black with Lustraloy cap with a Blue Diamond and a jeweller's band.

 

Unfortunately, I will need to wait until tomorrow to ink it up and begin writing with it.........oh, will tomorrow NEVER come!?

What exquisite good taste you demonstrate: a Blue Diamond Vac shows that you are utilitarian in choosing a 51 yet have an artist's temperment in selecting a jeweller's band, and the vac over an aerometric filler.

 

We expect a full report on the morrow.

Parker 45 from the Marketplace came in today. Inked it up with some Sailor Blue/Black and I'm getting to some writing!

Received two pens (flat-top Sheaffer from DocNib and a Shuler .5 mm from Marketplace). :bunny01: :bunny01: :bunny01: Inked the Sheaffer with Pelikan Royal Blue and the Shuler with Pelikan Green. Both are great. :thumbup: :thumbup: I have to PM the sellers and let them know the pens are received and appreciated.

And another Marketplace pen arrives safely! :)

 

Mine's a 1950s Pelikan 400NN with KM nib from southpaw. Inked it up with some Waterman Florida Blue and it's writing like a dream!

My package finally came across the border from Mississippi. Inside was a Lamy Safari demonstrator (fine point), a Pelikan Pura (also fine point) and a Musk Visconti Van Gogh (also a fine point; notice a pattern?). The Pura is my first Pelikan and it's a lovely write! I haven't stopped using it since it came and my old Lamy AL-star is getting jealous.

 

Unfortunately, the Van Gogh's nib arrived bent so I had to return it for a replacement.

 

I hope it comes back to me soon... gotta write with it, gotta write...

A burgundy Sheaffer Snorkle Sentinel that I bought from southpaw in the Marketplace. I can't wait to get this thing inked up and try her out!

Only thing I currently have in the wind is a box of pens from eBay. Shipped 1st Class USPS, so only way I'll know it came is when I get home tonight.
