Got this in a shop close to home. It's an Aurora 88, but I don't think they still make it with metal body. Was probably there for a few years...

It arrived yesterday. A broad-nibbed Visconti Art Nouveau. Filled it with Herbin Ambre de Birmanie and am now ready for autumn!

Well, yesterday I bought a pen holder and one each of Hunt 512 and 513EF dip pens, though I'm not very impressed with the 513EF -- plenty flexible, but it doesn't seem to like India ink much and flexing the tines draws enough ink to require dipping after one word, sometimes less. Must look over in Penmanship for more information, I may be forgetting something.

Had a field day at the flea market today.

Bought 5 pens :

1. Almost Waterman preface in black with nice 18k nib.

2. Very mint (exteriorly at least ) looking red/burgundy Parker Vac with very good pump and sac.

3. Wearever in steel 8365 nib and glass feed.

3. Wahl-Eversharp skyline with celluloid cap

5. Mint Waterman Phileas rollerball

All for a total of $165.

Also saw a blue Parker vac with very translucent barrel, just like a demonstrator but too bad it could not take up any ink.

A NOS Sailor pen, it's stainless, slightly smaller than a Pilot G-2, has a gold nib labeled 'F-4' and has a sticker that says '250'. And I can't find anything about it on the web. It looks a lot like a predecessor to a Recruit.

Received the Sheaffer Imperial I've been waiting for today -- it's every bit as beautiful as the photos showed, Touchdown filler works perfectly, and the nib (a fine stub regrind) is very nice as well. The most I've ever paid for a pen -- $60 shipped -- which is actually a bit less, after adjustment for inflation, than what I dropped on the TD Imperial I bought new in 1976. In fact, this pen is almost identical, except for the fine stub; my high school Imperial had a B.

Looking forward to using this pen for a long time...

Just received a True Writer Kyoto with a fine nib.

Got mine today--but although the nib was marked 'F', the pen wrote a medium, almost bold line.

I already have a True Writer with an F nib, so it was easy to make an apples-to-apples comparison.

The pen itself is lovely, but I have to send it back tomorrow for an exchange. <sigh!>

My new Visconti Forbidden City came in today. This thing isn't a pen -- it's a national treasure! I'm waiting for Jackie Chan to attack me to take it back to the the Emperor! This is the blingiest, busiest, largest pen I've ever laid eyes on, but it WORKS. And yes, I inked it, and it has a perfect, wet, smooth xf nib, too. Love, exciting and new ... :)

A Parker 51 aerometric. It's my first vintage fountain pen, and I love it already. It's a much smoother writer than my Waterman Expert, which I'm just ambivalent about.
