What Pen Did You Get Today?

George

Recommended Posts

It's here, it's here!! First pen I've ever owned that's (probably) older than I am, first lever filler I've used in more than thirty years. My mint-green Esterbrook J arrived in today's mail after getting a new sac, trading the mismatched (early J type, plain clip three-rib) cap for a matching one, and getting a new barrel jewel. The 2556 nib is "just" a nice fine, but that's subject to change when I can find/afford a stub, italic, or flex nib for it. Now inked with PR Ebony Green, and sitting in my "pen cup" after a short test write...

Love the feel of real celluloid, and the color's very nice, too... :clap1:

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

Blue Esterbrook J, with a gorgeous Pendleton Point. Have I found my perfect pen?

The voice of this guitar of mine, at the awakening of the morning, wants to sing its joy;

I sing to your volcanoes, to your meadows and flowers, that are like mementos of the greatest of my loves;

If I am to die away from you, may they say I am sleeping, and bring me back home.

Got Pilot 78G Teal M point.

Nice, light pen for an everyday writer. Looks smart in teal!

Hey, I've worked out how to set up an avatar! Next week I'll move onto tying my own shoelaces...

I just bought my first two Hero pens--a light blue 360 and a black older model 329. I have almost pulled the trigger on Hero pens probably a thousand times, but something always kept me from the purchases. At $5 a pop from I Sell Pens I couldn't say no!

This week I also finally purchased my very first bottle of ink--Private Reserve in Ebony Purple, which is just gorgeous. Probably going back for Naples Blue very soon!

I'm waiting for a brand new Pelikan M400 Tortoise with a broad nib from Binder. I cannot say how excited I am waiting for my first Pelikan.

A Pilot MYU90 from PenGallery's B&M store. I was offered an irresistible price by Mr Lai :puddle:

That after I had just purchased a couple of beautiful, smooth-writing Pelikan Gallery pens at KS Gill's. Priced very cheaply (<US$5 each at current exchange rates) - colorful cartridge fillers with the same smooth M nibs found in the Pelikanos :thumbup:

Both the Pelikans I bought were quickly claimed by my two youngest kids right after I had pulled them out of the bag - the pink one by my daughter Amira, and the blue one by my son Afiq :headsmack:

Looks like I have to go to the store again and buy more :rolleyes:
