Not a fountain pen, but I think it is a good pen nonetheless. I finally purchased a Parker Executive yesterday. It's a 4 way multi-pen: blue ink, black ink, 0.5mm mechanical pencil and highlighter. The highlighter is pretty much just a pen with bright orange ink. I got the Executive in black. This will be nice only needing one pen in my planner for just about everything when I'm out & about.

This beauty from Japan, I am somewhat in love with her, my first pocket pen  .

I was pleasantly surprised by the feeling, the plastic seems to be very dense and hard and everything fits nice and snug.. Why don't Platinum pens enjoy as much attention as the Sailor/Pilot pocket pens?

I'm waiting for my third Pelikan M640 SE in their current Natural Beauties line. I have Polar Lights and Sahara (my current favorite) and should get the Niagara Falls this afternoon. I found great prices on Sahara and Niagara (in the $260 range believe it or not--Bittner).

No spending remorse here -- after less than two weeks, the postman delivered my new Hero 257 "Cayman Mouth" pen, from eBay seller ghostshadow in China. This was one of the "ninety-nine cents, shipped" pens that generated a thread a while back, and I wouldn't have been displeased to have spent $15 on this one. The nominally fine nib is on the wet side, so it writes more like a medium, and the "permanent converter" holds about twice what a cartridge would.

This one's going to be in my pocket a lot...

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

yes, I too have limited enthusiasm for MB pens but I must make a couple of exceptions:

The black resin 149 is a beautiful pen with large ink capacity and one of the finest nibs available anywhere today. (I am told by someone who visited the factory that these large 149 nibs are hand finished there, and not bought in from a nib maker.

Additionally I think the 146 in sterling and the one in vermeil are outstanding beautiful.

All of these three pens have become a cliche of the yuppie world but they should not be underestimated on that account

Dear Solitaire,

Thank you for your reply. I'm not a yuppy because I'm not rich and not young. The 149 striked my eyes for a long time. Only if it was made of black-lacquered metal, which I think is beautiful and durable (I mean shatter-proof), it would be perfect and I would have bought it a long time ago. I have too much fear of dropping my FP on the hard floor, and there are many tales of shattered precious resin.

I just wanted to start a poll showing the new pens people get every day!

Have Fun!

I got a Levenger, white cracked ice fountain pen which writes beautifully, vintage Wearever where I can't get the nib to write and my favourite, a pre-war Swan Mabie in excellent condition (the owner was given it as a present and just kept it in the loft) , pristine condition and I am in love with the flexible nib, I only want to write with flexible nibs now.

Happy day! I got my Nakaya Long cigar max size in the heki tamenuri finish and ishime kanshitsu grip today. It arrived almost two months ahead of schedule. I'll probably spend the whole night awake writing and scribbling yay!

I didn't get it today, but inked it for the first time: Montblanc William Faulkner, M nib. Waterman Havana Brown.

Writes great. The top is a bit heavier than I thought, but it feels really good.

A Columbus Maxima in solid sterling silver

I can't get the supposed international converter from my Grifos to fit nicely into the section though. No problems with the converter from my Columbus Academia. I wonder if Columbus' converter is proprietary? :hmm1:

A slightly battered Cross ATX in a metallic light brown (?) shade, which I picked up from the infamous flea market, here in Hyderabad. For $4 I didn't mind too much, considering it has a nice piston converter included!

My First Cross FP, Yay!
