Hello everyone!

I am really excited about a pen I picked up today. I traded a mb 145 med nib for a NEW Delta "Peace" Special Limited Edition Fountain Pen with Vermeil Trim and Lateral Lever, 18k med Nib. After I did some reseach, I was deeply moved by the events that lead to the makinig of this pen. This Delta comes with a really nice box and pen wrap. Aslo, a bottle of special delta Blue ink was included in the set. I will post photos of this good looking pen asap. Attached is a copy from Deltas website. I am very impressed with the size and heft of this pen. This is a great showing for my first Delta.

Hope everyone had as good of a day as I had!

Felix

i got a couple more lamy safaris and an AL star so I can keep them inked with the kinds of inks I like and have a selection of nib widths, a hero 187 which I was pleasantly surprised by, and a pen by regal with a 'chinese calligraphy' nib that was cheap and sparked my curiosity.

I picked up a Pelikan M805 this week from Richard Binder. He adjusted the flow for me to what I wanted and this thing is a really nice pen. A pen for serious work and compliments my favorite desk pen, my Mikado.

JELL-O, IT'S WHATS FOR DINNER!

I got my very first Parker, a Parker 45, in the mail two days ago. It is an incredibly generous gift from FPN-er antoniosz. She took a while to get flowing, but now writes beautifully.

I have two Reform 1745s on the way from JJBlanche. I couldn't be more excited!

I received a beautiful Aero Parker "51" today from FPN'er Penfisher and can't wait to ink it up and start writing. This one is burgundy, and I was in a bit of a rut with black "51"s.

My first (but definitely not my last) Sheaffer PFM. This one's a black PFM III from a fellow FPN'er. It has very minor cosmetic issues (desk wear, a ding on the cap band), but the price was right, and it writes like a dream!

I see many more PFMs in my future, that's for sure...

Today the postmaster delivered a Sailor Sapporo I bought a few days ago from TConnell, who was cleaning out his attic. Have not had much of a chance to try it, or to photograph it. That will come later this week. Looks nice. Feels nice. Looking forward to see what I'll get out of it.

Now, I'm waiting for some more bottles of vintage inks I got on ebay -- Sheaffer, Waterman, Quink...

It's now time to consolidate...

(This is from last Friday, but I haven't had a chance to post until today...)

OK, my wife and I went to some antique stores up in the mountains, and I bought...

...a Parker 51 special desk set. Onyx base, black pen with chrome tip. Nib seems to be a medium, and lays down a good thick line.

The price? $16, BUT she said that entire booth was 50% off, so I got it for $8. Shweeet!

I like buying pens, but I LOVE buying pens at ridiculously good prices!

A Pilot Custom 742 with a FA nib. Very very disappointed with the nib. Flexy/spring as described but very scratchy and insufficient ink flow to allow consistent flex writing. Shoulda bought it from a nibmeister I guess. As the folk at Ujuku speak no English I think I am snookered.

I went to Laywine's (Bellair St., Toronto, Canada) yesterday, in search of a bottle of Noodler's Ottoman Rose. They didn't have any Noodler's at all, so I treated myself to a Conklin Mark Twain Signature FP, in pink, with a medium nib, instead.

While I was trying out various pens, a teenager and her father came over to the counter. She really liked one pen, but before she could ask to try it, her father asked how much it was. "$295." Dad's reply was a firm, "No way," and he steered her towards some much more reasonably priced Lamy Safaris.

As soon as I got home, I filled my new pen with Herbin Rose Cyclamen. Gorgeous!

The Parker 51 I was waiting on has appeared. It has a mismatched cap, but I'm told there's a lot of that about, and it's a very nice one otherwise.
