I got a Sailor king of Pen ebonite/rhodium from Classic. I am very impressed so far.

Wow...congrats...looking forward to your review of KOP

1. A piston-filler Ancora Goliarda in beautiful green celluloid :cloud9:

2. A crystal-based, Waterman Inkvue-like celluloid Radius desk pen, with a curious Vacumatic-like filling system

Both vintages from the glory days of fountain pens

An unmarked, lever fill pen. It has a green plastic barrel and a goldtone cap. There are no markings on the pen other than "Made in USA" on the clip and "Velvet Point 6" "Made in USA" on the spoon nib. On the plus side, the sac is intact and funtional. It was $12 at an antique shop. Not a bad price for a working lever fill IMO.

Bought two Pelikan 140 brand new NOS at a very reasonable price.

At first thought I hit jackpot and got two 100 but then realised it's the 140 but at the price I paid it's still a bargain.

Also bought a vintage pen with the brand Commonwealth.

And also a Kenzo pen with an unusual gem stone encrusted nib.

Plunging into strange waters after years of ball point 'pens,' I have returned to my school days and joined the fountain pen revolution--or is it a restoration! My first pen, of a few weeks ago, was/is a beautiful blue Visconti Van Gogh Maxi with a fine nib. It houses Caran d'Ache Caribbean Sea ink. Even a professional matchmaker couldn't have arranged such a perfect marriage. The ink flows beautifully, almost joyous to be wetting the waiting page--well, don't laugh, we all personify the things we love! And there is one Pelikan in the nest (the 800 in red), and one wnging its way here from a well known store in Seattle (the Polar Lights, which has its ink waiting for it--Caran d'Ache Amazon Green). These new fountain pens are little technological marvels--if you pay attention your clumsy digits need not display the latest ink color.

Silver Waterman Careen. Its a beautiful smooth writer, and feels great in my hand. I have yet to encounter a Waterman with a bad nib. Inked with PR Midnight blue. First time use of this ink as well.

The difference between the almost right word & the right word is really a large matter--it's the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.

I'll post the pictures in the Pelikan forum when I have time to take the photos.

Together with another frankened 140 I bought from the same place previously.

Hi looks like it's worth a visit to the China Square....Is the flea market only open on Sundays?

My first Sailor--a Professional Gear (black with rhodium trim) with a music nib. I inked it with Montblanc Racing Green. The nib is fantastic: a lot of line variation, nice and wet, extremely smooth, perfectly broad. This music nib is now one of my favorite factory nibs (along with the Aurora italic)! I am definitely a new Sailor fan.

Well, not a whole pen, but a nib I had been waiting for so that I could use my recently acquired Parker 75 silver cisele. I was lucky to get the last broad nib Mr. Minuskin was selling the other week and now the pen is complete! Yay!

I subscribe to The Rule of 10 (pens, that is)

1) Parker Sonnet 1st gen 2) Pelikan 200 yellow 3) Parker 51 vac 4) Esterbrook trans J 5) Esterbrook LJ "Bell System Property" 6) Sheaffer Snorkel Valiant fern green 7) Waterman 52.5V 8) Parker 75 cisele 9) open 10) open (I'm hankering for a Doric)

Well I didn't actually get them today, but I very recently got two Varuna pens from the very helpful Steve Braun of "All Write Now" http://allwritenow.net/

I now have a beautiful slim Kavi and the hefty Vishal, both in raw finish ebonite, which I find extremely satisfying to the hand. I had never used ED pens, but they were very easy to fill, hold a lot of ink, and I could hardly be happier.

Today I got my very FIRST FP. A Wality 52. But I do not have any ink yet. Can you imagine how that feels, to finally get your first FP, then not be able to write anything because the ink isn't going to be there for 2 more days!!!! :bonk:

A new MontBlanc to go with my little crew of MBs. Joining my MB-144 FP, BP and RB and my MB-145 is my new LeGrand 146!

Dang Perry, you've been cleaning up!

But I came to brag about a Simplicity in Cracked Ice with an 18kt fine nib. :)

The PFM II Blue I picked up recently deserves mentioning too... especially since it only appears to have been dipped prior to meeting ink from me earlier this week.
