What Pen Did You Get Today?

Four fountain pens I was waiting on (an ebay auction that didn't name names) have arrived: a Jinhao 250, a Jinhao X450, a Huashilai 2210 and a Sail Star 300. Never even heard of the last brand, but it looks a nice pen.

None, but got the email from Binder saying my 6 pens I sent in January are ready to come home :)

Got it yesterday, but didn't have my computer available. 1947 Vacumatic, silver slip, beautiful wet F nib, from PakmanPony at the Arkansas Pen Show (along with an Esterbrook desk pen with flex nib)

Completing a trade from another forum, a restored Esterbrook J with 2668 nib installed and an Osmiroid medium italic on the side.

My part of the trade was two Gillette Slim Adjustable safety razors from '66 and '67.

I got a Pelikan M200 Citroenpers (traded for another M200 in a more stately colour!) and a Sheaffer Triumph in Cadmium yellow from gee09.

It appears that I'm developing an unhealthy habit of being attracted to yellow pens. Last month a I got a yellow VP (gift) and - wait for it - a yellow VP ballpoint! (trade again) I didn't even know you could get VPs in ballpoint. They look great together, especially in a yellow leather pen pouch :cloud9:

A little extra cash came my way, so I headed over to the Bruceton Antique Mall.

Found this Estie SJ for $16. 9128 (extra fine flexible) nib. The insides are more than likely toast. One should not hear a crunching noise when starting to work the lever. :yikes:

So it's got to go into the shop. If nothing else, I've got an extra nib for the other Estie I got today.

Won the auction today for a Pelikan M450, it'll take a week to get here from Germany.

Today, at the Arkansas Pen Show, I got a Diamond Point, BCHR, flexy nib, with very crisp chasing, and an imprint which one can read from three feet away. It looks as if it had been stored for 80 years in a box somewhere. Ironically, I purchased it from a fellow Dallas Pen Club member, who also drove up for the show in Little Rock. Perhaps I can get some pics tomorrow, after I replace the batteries in my camera, and post them.

Got the new Lamy Safari 2009. To me it is EXACTLY the same shade of the 2004 Flame. What a disappointing choice.

Annoyingly, I've found that the Huashilai leaks after inking it this morning. (Great gobbets of ink running down from the feed.) Still, the other three work okay.

quote 'Jimmy James'

I got one of the smaller Sheaffer Balance pens in a lovely black/grey/white pattern and a Sheafer TipDip I think must be a Craftsman (I think the rule there is Craftsman=metal cap, Cadet=plastic cap). The Balance will have to get a new sac, but the TipDip is ready to go and is a lovely writer!

Is the TipDip teal? filled with Luxury Blue ink :crybaby: did you find it in MI? sniff..missing my pen..

ALthough...guess what I found yesterday when I was cleaning my pens???

I DO have a snorkle! a lovely black, white dot triumph nib which is very smooth! these last few years have been sort of a challenge..don't recall when or where I bought this pen..though I was hunting a snorkle for a Long time.

funny how much I appreciated that lesser model tipdip..just fit my hand, and actually prefer the old style nib...hoping it will still turn up:)

congrats on your finds:D

Part of a pen: a fine nib section for my c.1990 P. Duofold International, in trade for my outgoing medium nib section. The fine is a little less smooth than my very smooth medium. I'll have to wait for my soon-to-be-purchased loupe before knowing whether that's an alignment issue or just the difference between the fine and the medium.

I won this one today on Ebay. It seems to be a plunger filler. It is marked "Vogue" on the clip.
