Dextertje,

It's pretty much a given you'd look back in disgust and harbor tremendous regret (and resentment) if you sold it. Please KEEP your beautiful fountain pen and enjoy the creativity it will surely evoke, not to mention the sheer pride of ownership.

Cheers!

A 1932 Parker Premier, newly restored by Peter Twydle who has done a fantastic job.

The pen was a wreck in every respect but looks brand new now.

Parker had Premiers in 1932?

Glad to hear it arrived safely, hope you enjoy it!

I just received off the Dreaded a Haro II glass-nib pen, manufactured in Germany. The seller claimed the pen body was bakelite, but it's clearly hard rubber. The glass nib seems to have been chipped, like it was dropped on its point; I used some 1000 grit sandpaper and a brown shopping bag to bring it back to usability. The pen seems to have a "dead spot", where ink is not delivered, but it may have been intentional, as the original advertisements describe something like that. Here's a photo from the seller:

Still waiting for my Birdie, so today I decided to try an Inoxcrom. Picked up a Wall Street in matt black with matt silver trims and a medium nib. I also saw a Sheaffer mini calligraphy kit on special, so I got that too!

A Lamy Safari - my second. I ordered it from the pen shop downtown two days ago and received it yesterday morning, along with bottles of Waterman's black and Florida blue.

If one considers the dollar/pleasure ratio, is there a better buy anywhere?

I haven't posted a new pen here in a while, not that I haven't acquired my fair share lately, but I just had to share this one. I got a Danitrio Bluish/Purple roiro-migaki Takumi with flexy F nib from Winedoc today. I'm pumped about this one!

Just ordered an Edison Pearl. Like a kid looking in the refrigerator, I idiotically checked the mail tonight.....

Just got my first ever order from Mr Binder: a VP .7 cursive italic nib. Loaded it up with Herr Binder's fav, Waterman Blue-Black. My first correspondence card was to my wife congratulating her on an honor which she received today in her work as a dyslexia therapist. Nice day.

Inoxcrom seem to have very different ideas about "Medium" to Sheaffer. I don't know if it's the ink, the nib or a combination thereof, but it's also pretty big on nib creeping. Nice to write with though, I'm quite happy with it. Just need to find me a converter now!

Using the reply for the first time...hope am doing it right! I got my FIRST Parker Vacuumatic-Emerald Green-am so happy, but can't unscrew the back to get to the plunger. I will look to find someone to restore it for me. It has a solid gold toned (no carat markings, does this mean it's not gold???) with an actual date code on it. .6. Is this unusual? I will try to add photos.

Very nice! I'll have to go vac-hunting at some stage, they're a really beautiful pen.
