Black VP. Have a few other colors and always wanted a black / rhodium

Jaylo,

That's the exact same color combo VP I should have ordered, but instead, bought a Decimo in pearl white. Don't get me wrong, it's a great looking pen WHEN OBSERVED UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT. Otherwise, it just looks like another boring white pen.

Congrats on your fine acquisition!

Thank you Clive! The point is: it's not over. I got an M605 today in the way described here

Cheers!

Incredible, Diplomat! You'll soon require a wheelbarrow to cart all those Pelikans around you're accruing so rapidly!!! :D MAN ... you really SCORED with that M605.

Can you imagine having similar luck when acquiring a handful of Toledos, Light House of Alexandrias, Maki-E's and 170th Anniversary Majesties?!??

Cheers! :happyberet:

The day Galeria Kaufhof will have a 60% sale on Toledos I will walk from here to the closest German town with no stops.

Thanks Clive,

VP looks great in black & rhodium. I can't think of any pens I think look good in gold trim.

I got a 1947 Parker "51" Vacumatic Filler today really nice condition other then it tends to skip but I might have that fixed by tomorrow.

EDIT: Fixed . . . trying to get pen to work > sleep for work

Forgot to post this yesterday, but I finally got what I would consider to be "the" "51" Aero. Midnight blue, 100% on the Lustraloy's frosting, great imprints on the date code (it's a '49), and perfectly restored.

Best part? 0.7mm cursive italic, courtesy of Richard Binder, who also did the restoration on it several years ago for a buddy of mine. It went from Iowa out to Hollywood, and back.

Until there comes a day when I absolutely have no other alternative, don't expect to see this one come up for sale.

Waterman Carene with a stub nib! Mr. L described it as some kind of brown color, like "frosty brown" - it looks fantastic, more like a dark, dark silver like on some Jaguars. I have it right next to my Carene fine nib which is sand color, makes a great looking set.

Can you tell I'm happy?

But, this does mean I should probably order something else, of course....

eriquito sent me a Reform 1745 with what appears to be a fine nib. My first piston filler! Very excited! Thanks Eric.

I walk into my apartment and see a tag on my apartment mailbox notifying me a package has come and is being held in the building office. "Sweet! My Lamy Flame is in from Swisher Pens!" Instead, I take a ownership of a large, heavy priority mail parcel that is far too big to be a Safari. My brother has sent me an unannounced and unexpected artisan crockery as a belated Christmas present. Nice, but not what I had in mind.

I open my mailbox, and lo, there it is: the small flat rate box I was waiting for fresh in from Virginia Beach! Double prizes! Thanks USPS for making my day. Off to use my Lamy to write a thank you note for my brother...

A lovely little Parker 51 Demi in teal with a lustraloy cap and a fine nib.

I also found an older bottle of USA made Blue-Black Scrip today at a local university bookstore, so I loaded up the Demi with that and used it taking notes all afternoon in a meeting.

Oooh! I get to play again!

My first Sheaffer! Acutally, it's a Sheaffer's, but let's not split hairs. Mid-to-Late 30s Flattened Ball Humped clip (my favorite style) non-lifetime Marine Green Striated Balance with Visulated section (not much clarity left, but that's fine), shiny, shiny celluloid, NO visible brassing, firm, but not nail-like No. 3 fine nib, and just plain beautiful and a joy to use. Got it filled with Aurora Black, but that's temporary, since I already have 3? 4? pens inked with black.

Many thanks to Andy's Pens in the UK!

My first Parker 61, near-mint in Rage Red, capillary fill (inked, unfortunately!), and with an arrow which fell-off as I took it out of the box...now firmly epoxied in place!

Lovely looking pen...now being filled with Diamine Passion Red (seemed appropriate!)

A Conklin Word Gauge which, Schlorp!, just sucked up a prodigous amount of ink. It is an attractive tortoise acrylic. A little Simichrome took care of the tarnish on the furniture.
