This one's not for myself actually, but a gift for my eldest son's 13th birthday

I've always noticed him holding his pencils and ballpoints at an angle - about 45-50 degrees - which is certainly not ideal for those writing instruments, but perfect for a fountain pen

But I digress... I got him a Parker Urban Metro Metallic in chrome trim... nice curvy metal body, with a smooth medium steel nib. I had his name engraved on the barrel :)

This pen felt so good in the hand, though, with just the right balance and heft, and the nib is so smooth with excellent flow, that I'm seriously contemplating getting one for myself as a daily user if not for the fact that I already have way too many pens :headsmack:

Oh, well, today one of my "dream pens" was in the mail. A stunning stickered Lamy Safari in Savanna Green. It has even the box! I didn't know about the box, it's really cool. Like a do-it-yourself Ikea plastic and paper box. With the plastic made of same plastic of the pen!

Cool!!!

At last, the vintage Tabo V in black celluloid and a transparent striped ink window, with a flexy nib :cloud9:

It didn't make it here the first time round (it did reach Malaysia, but not me) last November as while on its way here, someone tried to steal the pen and ended up damaging it  . Somehow it made it back to the sender in Italy who managed to repair it and sent it back to me again earlier this year :)

My first Conway Stewart! A vintage No. 479 in black chased plastic with nickel trim and a fine flexible nib! Took me a couple of dip-tests to find the sweet spot, but how sweet it is!

I'm very surprised to find that I really really like the short lever, as well! Methinks an English focus to my collection might be afoot, long-term...

A very nice Esterbrook J in Gray, beautiful stripes in the pattern and I'm not sure whether it's the light or dark gray! Guess I'll just have get another to compare them, right?

None today, but I'm waiting anxiously for an Esterbrook SJ, a Sheaffer No Nonsene, a Sheaffer Craftsman, and a University. It's driving me a little nuts. Every day this week it's been excitement and then disapointment at the mailbox.

I'm starting to think that the post-man has a vendetta against me. :gaah:

Edit to add:

I'm also waiting for a Cross ATX but it's coming from Canada, so I have no great expectations that it'll get here in any hury as US Customs loooooooooooooves to hold up international packages that have a good heft without much volume.

Still nothing. :gaah: :crybaby: :gaah: :crybaby:

Huh. Wonder why they call it a Jumbo...?

Anyway, I got my 1950s era Pelikan 400 with a lucious OBB nib. First Pelikan, but definitely not the last!

I got 10 Hero 336s from speerbob (purchased via eBay). I bought over the weekend, and he shipped yesterday. I can't say good enough things about Bob as a seller. I haven't yet inked any of the pens, but they're short (he warns of that in the ad)! Happily, the cap adds enough length to be a good size posted.

The mail man delivered my new (to me) Parker 51. Now, I understand what all the fuss is about these pens. Wowowow! Just bought another one this morning.

Sigh, there goes the pen budget...

A good friend took me to lunch earlier today, and I received my Pilot Prera in Pink (F nib) with two Pilot Iroshizuku inks Tsuki-yo (Moonlit Night) and Kiri-same (Misty Rain). Best. Dessert. Ever.
