My first Esterbrook J, a Dubonnet Red from Penguinmaster! And I just won a grey Esterbrook with a 2442 nib on ebay. My first auction win!

Now to get the inks and paper out...

Two Platinum PG-250s from Speerbob. Nice writers out of the box, these are much more pleasant to use than the Pilot Elites which they were supposedly a copy of.

I bought EIGHT pens today. OK, not nearly as big of a deal as it sounds like. I bought a rOtring Art Pen - calligraphy pen with a 1.1 mm nib and 5 black ink cartridges and also a 7 color pack of Pilot Varsity fountain pens. This was all for less than $30.

The Varsity's do a great job for the price and being "disposable" fountain pens and the rOtring Art Pen is an incredibly smooth writer for the price. The included ink is a nice, rich black that has a good flow to it. There is only one downside to this pen - according to the included pamphlet the pen is modeled after a quill. I think the designers took that idea a little too far and the end of the pen tapers quite a bit. It is too narrow to post the cap. It's really annoying having no way at all to post the cap on a pen.

I will likely be checking out some other rOtring fountain pens once I have some extra money.

I was so awestruck yesterday that I failed to post about my pen's arrival.

None today, but I'm waiting anxiously for an Esterbrook SJ, a Sheaffer No Nonsene, a Sheaffer Craftsman, and a University. It's driving me a little nuts. Every day this week it's been excitement and then disapointment at the mailbox.

I'm starting to think that the post-man has a vendetta against me. :gaah:

Edit to add:

I'm also waiting for a Cross ATX but it's coming from Canada, so I have no great expectations that it'll get here in any hury as US Customs loooooooooooooves to hold up international packages that have a good heft without much volume.

I'm still waiting for three Conway Stewarts to cross the ocean, so I do understand.

Couldn't resist a Wateramn Phileas in Blue at Office Depot on clearance. Medium nib, inked it up with PR Tropical Blua and what a fantastic writer, Buttery smooth.

I got a Parker 100 (Finally I can live happily and die) which I will cherish forever, although a 51 would be nice. I also got an Inoxcrom Wall Street as a workhorse pen, but for a medium nib it is more like a fine one.

It did not. I would love to buy one for it, if you can recommend some place to pick one up. I I also have the black and gold striped which is also quite nice. Would need a converter for it also.

Cheers,

Tony

Actually last night. But got home too late to really do anything with it. Picked up a Sheaffer Skripsert on Ebay in the Black and Gold Tulle pattern. It's a slender pen but fits just fine so far in my medium to large sized hand. The pattern is the big attraction for me, so despite it being advertised as a "Lady's" pen I still went for it. Glad I did

Great find, I loooove my Lady Skripsert tulles (I have the black, red and ivory). Did yours come with a converter?

Lime green M Lamy Safari, immediately snaked by the bride who exclaimed "I LOVE this pen." Same thing happened when I bought a black one. Guess I'll have to have my Lamys shipped to work or kept on the down low...
