What Pen Did You Get Today?

A nice Burgundy Custom P51 Pen & Pencil set were waiting for me when I got home. The P51 has been used a good deal, but the sac is still clear. It worked perfectly after a bit of (un-necessary) flushing.

The eraser from the pencil has disintegrated, but I think I got a bargin for the two at £32.

Regards

Richard.

A VP Raden from Pam Braun with a Binder stubitalic nib on the way. Merry Christmas to me!! It's so pretty, I'm afraid to use it.

I also got my first Parker 51 from the market place, it looks great! I can't wait to fill'er up and start writing.

Just opened a box from Usui with a beautiful Pelikan 215 in it. What a smooth writer.

Yesterday I bought an Aurora Ipsilon Deluxe Blue, extra fine nib ( writes like a fine). I found it half price at a pen store in Maryland. I went in to get a Lamay, but saw this and after a few writing moments I knew I had found the one. The best pen I own at this time. This is my first post.

Hello, TechGal, and welcome to the Fountain Pen Forum. I've got an Ipsilon deLuxe also (mine is black with gold hardware, and the 14k nib), filled with Noodler's Legal Lapis. It's my only Aurora, and I've been very happy with its performance and good looks.

I just received a gold overlay Diamond Point Pen from the 20's. It's got a tiny little nib and it was just restored by Richard Binder.

I received my red/black ebonite Edison "Pearl" from Brian Gray yesterday. It is absolutely gorgeous. Brian is a great pencrafter and communicates very well to ensure that you're getting exactly what you want or have in mind (eg. my Pearl is slightly longer than the regular one that Brian makes, as I generally don't post my caps when writing). I am indeed a very satisfied customer! If you're interested, check out his website http://pencraftonline.com/page.cfm/Pearl-Main-Page. My pen is the second from the top in the right column.

Just arrived in the mail was a Sheaffer Legacy II Platinum from Possum-Run. It's a really smooth fine nib. I already had a Legacy and a Legacy Heritage so now I have a set.

Bought a Sheaffer fountain pen in translucent blue at the Ohio Pen Show for $20 after dipping & trying it out. Looks nice for $20 and writes VERY smoothly. After getting it home & trying it for a bit, looked it up online. It appears to be a Sheaffer No Nonsense. Nib is stamped with "F" and "Italic". I'm getting an urge to upgrade the nibs on the pens I can to italic nibs.

In response to fuchsiaprincess: I'm sure you'll love your pen. I got to meet Brian Gray from Edison Pens. He is a very nice down-to-earth guy. Probably more importantly to you: I got to try out a couple of his pens and they are awesome! I really hope to be buying a pen from him in the next year or so.

Thanks, Kenny! I'm so jealous that you guys are having a ball at the Ohio Pen Show. There're no pen shows here. The closest is in Melbourne (>800km away) and I can't afford to go :(

It must be so nice to meet the people that you deal with over the internet and try new pens!

Soki

From the Ohio Pen Show...

-Burgundy English Parker Victory. Has a wonderfully smooth nib. Might be a stub. Won this at the auction.

-Green Sheaffer No Nonsense with Medium Italic Nib. I haven't ink it yet, but it is a very nice kelly green.

-Parker Sonnet Firedance with a custom ground CI nib from Pendemonium. I have been questing for a Firedance for a very long time. I could not pass this one up.

I received a box of vintage pens from a mate this morning. He cleaned out his father's house on the weekend. While he aplogized for them all being "cr*p" I identified a CS286 in black with a flexy medium nib, an Onoto plunger filler ,a Parker 45 with a flawless rolled gold cap and what looks like a broad nib, some sort of late Sheaffer touchdown filler and what looks like a Duofold Senior nib and section. After a wash and a polish they all are in very good or better condition.

Once I get them all back to working well I will return the best (probably the P45) to my mate.

If only every day involved generous gifts of such "cr*p"!
