What Pen Did You Get Today?

Recommended Posts

Not today, but yesterday, and got too involved to reply to his thread yesterday. Received a Green & Black Pelikan M200 with Broad nib from judperl on eBay (not affiliated), and, ironically, wrapped around the same rubber band, a Binder Pelikan F nib. Only ironic in the same rubber band. I ordered the nib right after winning the Pelikan, as I wanted a fine, not a broad. Also a P 45 F in Red from Lewertowski (sp) Penseller from France. Fairly rapid, considering origin in France.

Flushed both with soapy water, then rinsed both with clear water. I actually bought the 45 because the 45 I already have is Broad nib, and I wanted a Fine. It was less expensive to purchase the entire pen, from France, than to purchase just the nib from Parker!!!!.

Filled both pens (the new Pelikan, and the old 45 with the nib from the new 45) with Noodlers la coleur royale, and they both write like a dream. The Pelikan B sits uninked in the mini-ziploc the Binder F came in, for possible sale on Marketplace. The Red 45 with jeweled cap sits in my pen case, uninked as of yet.

Yesterday, a Filcao Atlantica, in swirly green acrylic resin, arrived in the mail with three nibs: Fine, a Binderized .6 mm cursive italic and Binderized .9 mm cursive italic. I haven't tried the fine yet, but have had lot of fun with the other two.

Today was like hitting the jackpot or a birthday!

In the mail today, much sooner than expected, I received:

Rotring Newton with fine point in copper color with matching pencil. I promptly filled it with Waterman Havana. Yum!

A Parker Profile with fine point in purple. It's a much more handsome purple than any of the photos let on! Have not decided what ink the Profile is going to get.

plus a bonus: a Pilot Birdie (F) which was gifted to me! it really was like a birthday! The Birdie sipped some PR Velvet Black.

This has been a good week for me and pens.

How exciting! My first Visconti arrived today. It's a Van Gogh Maxi in musk green with fine nib. This is an older style Van Gogh, with the 3-cam cap, which is what I wanted. It has a remarkable nib, very smooth, with a bit of flex. Wish I had a little absinthe to celebrate.

Eventually, my first Safari (the sky blue one with the red clip).

I like it, even if it does sometimes skip on downward strokes. I'm going to buy a bottle of Standardograph tomorrow to try it with another ink than the current Lamy blue.

I got a Parker 75 GP Perle Teardrop.

I love these pens and this patern on the pen is extremly atractive.

I should get 2 more Parker 75 soon.

I received a decidedly simple thing in the mail today but one that makes me very happy. It was a small container of pure silicone grease from Pendemonium, and my m200 and Lamy 2000 pistons are smooth as silk - to my unending delight!

It's amazing how something so small/cheap can make me so happy. I love smooth pistons :)

These passed two month has been crazy for me. I brough too many pens.

On Monday I won two vintage MB on Ebay. One is Monte Rosa and the other is 342.

Two days ago I went to Joon at Trump Tower and got MB Bach FP.

Today I went to Joon's pen fair and picked up Dupont 007 Casino Royle, Viscoti traveling ink pot and Retro 51 roller ball.

So I got 5 pen within a week.

The Precious arrived today. A nice, beautiful, 1928 Parker Big Red Duofold.

Sadly, I have to turn around and send it off to Richard Binder for some nib adjustments.

Yesterday I got one, but didn't have time to ink it last night. Today I got three more, and have not yet inked them. Yesterday's treasure is a Reform piston filler from speerbob in Thailand, from eBay. In the eBay ad he compares it to Pelikan. Last week I got a Pel M200 with Binder F nib, and this morning at a Bible conference took notes with both pens, to compare. They are very nearly equal, although the Reform nib is a little narrower line, which I like. Both are nicely wet smooth writers. Altogether a great deal on the Reform pen, and a pretty good one on the Pelikan, also from eBay.

Today I got one Sheaffer unknown model piston filler from eBay, and two Chinese pens, one Duke, and one Engineer, from Neojet at FPN, from Markeplace ad. Just got home from aforementioned Bible conference, and haven't inked any of them yet. I will do a review of each once I have lived with them a while.

Danitrio Mikado Tamenuri Urushi from Internetpens.

What a beautiful pen!

Can I find enough courage to actually ink it and press the nib to a piece of paper?

Today I received one of my dream pens. An "as new" MB Kafka. Truly the only MB LE design that has remotely interested me.

Its perfectly balanced and smooth as silk.

I received three rotring rivettes the other day. I think I've found my new office pen.
