What Pen Did You Get Today?

Another Parker 25: this one still with the converter, and the rest of its packaging, including a couple of half osmosed empty cartridges in the bottom of the case.

I received two pens today - a brand new Waterman Carene Black Sea with gold trim and fine nib; and a Modern Sheaffer Balance medium nib (purchased from FPN Member Ricky S). Started with the Carene today; will ink the Sheaffer tomorrow!

And I just added a nice looking Snorkle from eBay to the list, I really hate surfing here at times, I get the itis and start browsing for more.

I got an unknown vintage Sheaffer vacuum-fill today... It has to pre-date 1949, and I think it's a balance, and based on the color (thanks to Richard Binder's site) I put it between 1936 and 1945. Only problem is that the nib is wrong for the balance, but it may be because it is a non-white dot, and as I understand it they sold both white dot and non-white dot models.

Got 3 Danitrios from Winedoc. A silver Tempo, and a blue Barytone FP/RB set. I love Danitrios and winedoc. :cloud9:

Just wanted to record here that I got a beautiful Aurora 88 (model 800, the large piston filler) F nib, as reported in "Chasing the mailman" topic.

Don't know how it works still... planning the first "ink session" for the week end.

Cheers,

Just bought some ink cartridges (Bordeau, black and some blue) for my egg shaped Tombow. Got them from Michael at la Boutique du Stylo in Montreal. He was surprised at the color (Ivory with very small grey dots, almost like marble) of the Pen, said he never saw one like this. It was a gift I received about 15 years ago from a friend who was back from Japan.

Michael also showed me a very nice Taccia FP Moher of Pearl... very tempting!

Yowsah! Thanks, I didn't realise they did those. I've only ever seen the rollerballs anywhere. I'm going to have to look into this.

I just picked up from the post office a beautiful yellow mid-sized Sailor 1911 with extra-fine nib. Have to keep a very light hand on the pen otherwise the nib gets toothy. It is simply gorgeous.

Also have coming a small Conklin crescent filler, which will be number three in my collection. Really like these.

A yellow Lamy Safari EF and a Pilot Birdie F.

Haven't inked the Pilot yet, but I have some Waterman's black I'll use.

Punctured the cartridge of blue ink that came with the Safari right away.

What a smoooth writer! :D Thanks to reviews here at FPN I learned that

the Lamy nibs run bit on the broad side. Thus I got the EF and am very happy!

Thanks Todd Nussbaum at isellpens.com! :D

Now if I can ever get my Namiki VP from that other dealer... :(

-jon

EDIT: Just inked the Birdie. It is very smooth as well and writes a finer line

than the Lamy. Both pens write smoothly on the back of the nib.

Namiki VP Black Carbonesuqe/Kasuri. Had been curious about the finish, I'd get one before the price increase. My pink decimo will be going to a new owner soon...I found that regular VP's girth is more comfortable for me.

At the Dallas Pen Show today, I bought a beautiful hand-turned dark green "stripey" c/c filler from Joe Csokmay. I'm blaming Donnie. He bought the only clipless version of the same pen, and showed it to me. Sale made. I hope Joe gave him a commission.

Bought no other pens, but I did get a steal on a Stipula Netto pot. Last one Joel had, and it was near to closing time. I guess he didn't want to have to pack it to take it home.

Boy, did I see a lot of pens that I did want. But being careful with the cash these days.
