I finally got a chance to make it over to my favorite B&M Pen Store, Vanness Pens. (It's 75 miles away so I don't get over often!) Mike was great! He let me hold and look over every pen I asked about, and believe me that was at least 30 pens. He even pulled out a new special edition Parker Duofold Norman Rockwell for me to droll over, and offered me a very nice price. However even at the very nice price it was a bit out of my current budget. I have a Taccia Staccato in the Vanilla Latte pattern but he had the Starry Night version and it is gorgeous! After looking all over the store I came back to the Staccato and decided I had to have it! I found a Retro 51 Tornado ball point with a Hawaiian theme that my wife would love and my daughter picked out an ACME pen. All in all a good pen day! I got a great price on the pens and made everyone in the family happy! I've spent the last hour playing with the Staccato Starry Night. At least it wasn't hard to decide which ink I wanted to put in it!! (FPN Van Gogh Starry Night Blue, of course!!!)

Lucky you... my nib is smooth, just a fire hose making it unusable for my writing. I prefer a fine anyway.

Well I got it a couple days ago :D Pilot Custom 74 Demonstrator with F nib. I love this pen and it's now my primary house pen. I plan to put redish ink in it for writing in cookbooks and all, I just haven't settled on an ink. For the moment I have Noodlers Walnut in it and LOVE it.

So far I'm VERY happy with Pilot pens :D

I got a Parker 75 Sterling Silver FP with an EF nib (Ebay). I had one years ago and just wanted to have one again. Writes beautifully on both sides of the nib.

Also got a set of rapidographs and colored inks to go with the rapidographs from 6x0 to size 2

I also got a selection of Noodlers inks and a few Waterman and Diamine inks with some of the Noodlers and Diamines still 'on the way'. And a bunch of Preppy pens as 'testers'. I just added gaskets to them and they work surprisingly well. I got a Sailor (says F2 on the nib, which is 'bent so that a portion of the nib touches the paper giving a highlighting sized line width) and a 1.5mm Lamy also for highlighting. The Lamy is OK but I'm not too impressed with the Sailor.

As I'm new here, my next pen might be somewhat common around here - A Pelican M200 with an XXXF 'Binderized' nib - from Richard. But it wasn't common for me :)

I put some Waterman Blue Black ink in it and used it to do an overview outline of a textbook I'm studying, written in a moleskin notebookbook and ran through about 2/3 of the ink supply without a single skip! (It was still going stong when I stopped). I couldn't be happier. It is exactly how 'juicy' it needs to be for this fine line with no wasted ink or mess. I was worried that a nib this fine might be too scratchy, but, for me it's perfect. Thanks, Richard!

Oo, edbolllix! A P51 Special! I just received a(n) NOS Parker 21 Super (black with silver cap), and... it doesn't write like the P51 I had (which I inadvertently destroyed... (sad face)), but I like it A LOT.

I also received a Pilot Prera (M) in slate, which replaces the same pen and color I have in F, cos I tried to "fix" the nib... and I fixed it all right! It works great as an ice pick!*

*Actually, I haven't tested for ice-picking, but I'm sure the pen is not good for much else.

Pelikan Polar Lights.

I am in shock how cool this pen is. My first Pelikan, but thus far it has everything I expected. The F-nib is wonderful and writes smoothly, even does the upside-down EF thing. I filled it with Diamine Damson, which just works with this pen.

Just wow.

Hi Ethernautrix,

I am indeed enjoying the 51. I suppose I an accumulating a lot of pens, including some vintage but the 51 seems to be mandatory! I do love the 21's I have seen. i was on David's page last night looking at all the pen eyecandy! I have to say that my daily writer for a while has been either my Hero 100 or Este J... So many pens...

Just received a Lamy Al-Star ocean blue broad nib from FPN member jdboucher. I really like the pen and he mailed it on Aug 15th USPS regular mail and it arrived here in Canada five days later! That's quite amazing. That's as fast as any priority post I have had shipped ... all for $1.42 postage!

A Binderized Cursive Italic Pelikan M805, writes perfect!

A Masuyamaized Cursive Italic Sailor 1911 Large Demontrator, writes perfect! He also fine tuned my inexpensive pilot and "remade" my lesser expensive parker so that they both now write like a dream.

So, I guess, I got 4 pens this week.
