One of the Levenger Medalists (Amethyst) with a B nib from ebay. Great deal! My first B nib, too. :D

Now I have to figure out what to ink it with.

Arrived on Thursday. Not quite a grail pen but close. I'll have to post to the Italian forum. Montegrappa Mille Miglia LE. NOS, an edition of 500 from 1998.

I simply couldn't help it. I've just ordered a Lamy Vista with 1.1 mm stub and Z24 converter.

I hope I can at least resist the temptation to turn it into an ED like I've seen many people did...

Old style Series 1 Rotring roller ball. Just recently started collecting them. I had a few from when they first came out and I loved them (tri-pen, ball point, .5mm mechnical pencil) . I set it aside and now I'm back to loving them. I like the weight and simplicity as well as the quality. Next is the .7 mm mechanical pencil, and 18k fountain pen.

Got two from Todd at isellpens, a Pilot 78G B, and the Lamy Safari in Lime Green. What can I say, you all are to blame for this little acquisition. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm eager to see how I like them.

Nine pens I sent off for repair. All daily users.

Four Sheaffer Tuckaways, Triumph, Crest, Sentinel, and a Touchdown Statesman

Three Snorkels, Peacock Blue Statesman, Green Valiant, Burgundy Statesman

Parker "51" Teal

Parker Duofold Junior

So happy to have them home.

Just like a ton of birthday gifts! I keep looking at them, admiring. Will spend the rest of the evening, plotting, planning, changing mind, picking inks to use and order to bring them into rotation.

I'm grateful to have these pens and the gift of life to enjoy them.

Received a 4th quarter 1949 Navy Gray Aero 51. Nice shiny cap, shiny black jewel, great fine wet writer, slightly visible fading between capped and uncapped portions of the barrel. Altogether lovely. Kudos to ebay seller darcyco (not affiliated). My first purchase from him/her, and I saved the seller, in case he/she has some other gems in the future.

Well, I am 'betwen pens' today.

Yesterday I received a very cool vintage Japanese short/long brush pen from Docnib and hopefully tomorrow I am going to receive something really really special from Dr Ron D

But today I received a nearly full botle of Skrip Persian Rose ink from a kind benefactor in the US.

I am at work now but am counting the hours till I can test run the new ink.

I must say that I am quite surprised that I, an old rugby player, am excited about trying a pink ink.

Is this what it is to grow old?

Got my 1994 Visconti Pericle M and it's fabulous. It was pretty gunked up, the dope shipped it with heavily concentrated ink in the converter that had probably been evaporating for years. Lots of soaking, rinsing, waiting and finally! It was so worth it!!

Good :clap1: and bad news :bawl: today

First the good news.... I received my YOL Retro from The Ink Flow today - it's looks and feels really, really nice and I can't wait to try it out :cloud9: More so after reading all the rave reviews here with regards to YOLs

The bad news is... another package arrived at the same time from The Netherlands, which is supposed to contain my Ferrari red Omas Milord, but after excitedly tearing apart the box I was disappointed to see an unknown-brand BP (EEK!! :yikes: ) instead.

Since I won this item on eBay and paid using credit card-PayPal, I immediately shot a message to the seller for a resolution. I will give him 3 days max before I start opening a PayPal dispute against him

Everyone needs a Hero. I got mine today, a 329 in maroon. I have put a little private reserve ebony purple in it and it write well, but I don't think this is the right colour for this pen.

Hi,

A Blue Carbonesque VP, bought from a fellow FPNer.

Always wondered what these were like, as lots of people rave about them, now have a chance to find out first hand. The pen looks great and writes very well the fine nib writes closer to an EF, but not really a problem. Only issue I have is the clip which sort of 'gets in the way' when I write, but after a little practcie I am slowly getting used to it.

As I said a nice pen perhaps not one I will use for weeks at a time, but sure it will make it into rotation on a regular basis (or be the standby pen for work).

This one arrived today, a 1934-35 Sheaffer Balance. This was somebody's favored pen because it shows lots of use, but somebody took good care of it. The sac is hard, so that will have to be replaced, and it has faded from gray to greenish, but has a sweet nib. What a delightful surprise.
