What Pen Did You Get Today?

George

I didn't get it today, but the last pen I bought was a pencil. A Mabie Todd sterling silver pencil in the shape of an old square nail. A pin on the side slides up and down (in a slot) to propel and retract the pencil. At the time of it's manufacture, the price was 90¢.

Wow, Moak, that's pretty cool looking! Does it commemorate something particular in history?

Today I accidentally bought an Aurora Ipsilon Deluxe B&G (F), and in the mail came a Kultur in the Lara Croft package.

I was lucky enough to find a Namiki/Pilot Sesenta in brown on eBay that had no one bidding on it. I received it today and it is just about the most perfect pen I've used in a long time. It will have a proud place in daily use with my Mandarin Yellow VP with Binder stub nib.

I got a gorgeous Danitrio Tosca in a blue cracked ice with some pearlescent highlights. It has a bicolor 18K medium nib. The gold color on the nib matches the hardware.

Although it was listed on eBay as used, a little water, a quick coat of wax, and it looks perfectly new. I can't believe I'm the only one who bid on it!

Now the dilemma (or perhaps it is a trilemma since there are three choices)...Herbin Eclat de Saphir, Waterman Florida Blue or Pelikan Blue?

Not a pen, but today, in a amazingly short 4 days from purchasing to door delivering from Japan to Italy, I got my favourite pen magazine batch of Volumes.

It is the "mook" Shumi no Bungubako.

Cool!

A 0.6 VP stub nib and a MacBook Pro. I only mention the MBP as it cost so much it will put a dent in my ability to buy FPs for a while.

At least the wish list has grown shorter though!

The very rare and very limited edition of the Alfred Dunhill AD 2000 pen, the AD 2000 Longitude pen. Mine has its warranty card, its original box, its user instruction manual and its original convertor. The Longitude has an integrated perpetual calender in its body. It is a very limited edition only 1200 pens built worldwide and numbered, I have the number 547. The nib is a first class Namiki Bamboo B nib.

Last night, I bought a Retro51 Scriptmaster II in Citron at Paradise Pen in Las Vegas. I'd wanted to try one out before buying (been burned by steel nibs), but this one wrote well. I bought the display one. I didn't get any ink for it, though, and I didn't bring my inkpot, so I'm stuck with cartridges for a few days.

well it had to happen at some point... I impulse bought a Lamy Vista this afternoon in clear, with the standard M nib and I've got to say I'm delighted with it. It's a really smooth writer, amazing considering the price!

Today at the fleamarket I found a black Esterbrook Demi and also a Sheaffer Snorkel. They both need restored, but I still think I got an awesome deal on them. ;)

Yay! I received my green Estie today. I was expected it not to be the Demi model, but it is still a nice little pen.

I got four Reform 1745s and a Platinum Workhorse today.

I have also recently gotten a Pelikan Go and a couple of new style Hero 329s.

After not buying for a while, I'm swimming in new pens!

Today I got a Black 51 Vac filler, from FPN's own Betty. It writes like a dream, a fine, smooth, line, medium wet, and looks maybe five years old, tops. and the pen is older than I am! Don't know why she sold it, but I am not complaining, because it was to my benefit.

Hey Foxy, I was thinking about getting a pen like this one for a GF as a little gift. Can you tell me a little about it? Carts or Converter? Nib size? Easy to use for a layman I mean laywoman?

Thank you in advance. Beauty of a pen.

Best,
