My second Pelikan after the petrol marbled M205. I couldn't decide which color I liked more, so now I have them both.

Lovely. Can there ever be too many Pelikans?

OOOOOH!  Nice going -- especially on the 51 with that amazing looking nib!  :notworthy1:

And as soon as it arrived in the post, I ended up buying a Swan.

What is wrong with me?!  🤔

You're asking the wrong people....  We would tell you "You're getting a Swan?  What's the nib on it?"

It appears to be a nicely flexible broad.  It looks very much like the Perfect pictured above.

What is wrong with me?!  🤔

I've been asking myself that for the last 30 days...and now I'm looking at some inks...and I *am* almost out of my favorite notebooks, so might as well get more to save on shipping...I have an illness, I'm sure of it.

Just bought an Aero 51 + Pencil set. Damn you, Apple Pay button!😬

Then I went back to the same site and bought a Vac 51. Because why not? 🙄

Yes, I caved and bought the '21 Lamy Safari Terra Cotta AND Savannah.  😞

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I really need to get a handle on things. In the last three days, I have impulsively purchased:

  • PFM III, burgundy
  • P51 aero + pencil, forest green
  • P51 vac, cedar blue
  • Targa, stainless steel

It has not been an inexpensive pen week.

I knew I was going to the local pen store while both my brothers were visiting. I didn’t have an exact pen in mind to buy. Mainly the plan was to get ink.

I looked at one Acme Studios pen I saw on the store’s website, then saw another one. After getting to see it outside the case, I ended up buying it, and a box of cartridges.  The ink was bought by my brother, who also bought a Waterman Expert.

I already had the fountain pen adapter kit from an earlier Acme Studios purchase. Because I have several pens already filled with blue inks, my brother let me fill the new Acme with his Diamine 150th Anniversary ink.

Ah, the Acme Blueprint! I really like that pen. Mine is so used that there is noticeable "brassing" (yes the trim pieces at least seem to be brass underneath). I get a lot of comments when I use that pen, especially if I choose to also wear the matching tie and cufflinks...enjoy!

Oh how cool you have the matching tie and cufflinks.  I admit there are reasons I chose it for having RING on it. It’s also a nice shade of blue, with an interesting font.  My other two Acme Studio pens are Rocket Hero and Fern.

I like the case Acme puts the pens in too.

What nib did you get on it?  I balked at the price on one for the longest time, but then when the red ones came out I wondered if there were any still out there (even as used pens) and got lucky -- Cult Pens in the UK had most of the nib sizes available.  Didn't realize there were still some to be had anywhere at this point, so congrats!

Thank you :) I got a MF nib pre-owned and unlike my recent run with my Sailor acquisitions since the pandemic started, this one had no issues and just wrote well. The seller sold it at a very reasonable price (around $241) for a relatively rare pen that was barely used, in my opinion. :)

I have an MF nib on one of my 1911S pens, and like how it writes very much.

ACME's designs are just amazing - I know, I used to sell them in my store, ,some 20 years ago, and had almost the entire current line in stock always - but their pens are extremely  heavy for my taste. Otherwise, I'd have no less than 20 or 30. These pens are probably in the 50 to 60 gr. range.

They were really good at picking the designers who did their special editions, and having only two versions (at the time, at least) of their caps and barrels probably helped a lot in producing such an eclectic collection.

ACME's direct competitor was Retro 51, who had a desk set that was basically a knock-off of Eversharp's, with it's ball-shaped base. Retro's rollerballs are very comfortable to write with. Just don't keep them in a shirt pocket, because they're operated by turning the knob at the end of the barrel and, man, do those things turn easy!

There's something about that finish that I couldn't resist, so I ordered myself one of them.  It's the new 'mango' finish for the Leonardo Momento Zero.  I ordered it with a 1.1mm stub nib.

My M800 Brown Black has arrived from Athens.

It is gorgeous. Got the broad nib. It was slightly scratchy on the right to left stroke, but a few mins of nib tuning sorted that out. It has a slight flaw on one of the cap rings, but I'm not sure I'll bother having it replaced under warranty. Still deciding.

Good to hear you like the pen. It is attractive. It makes a lovely set with its matching ballpoint, and also, IMHO, with the Burnt Orange ballpoint.

I am curious to see what kinds of new things are coming this year in the M800 line...
